ACSCE, BE, Aerospace Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 1, 2020

Remarks

Placements in Aero domain should improve.Along with syllabus students are to be provided with equal industry knowledge. Our college should improve in this aspect.

Course Curriculum Overview

It has helped in grasping the knowledge about various aircraft as well as spacecraft structures. They had taken to many industries like HAL,NAL,ISRO.We had wonderful experience in Airforce technical College, Jalahalli. They have even conducted technical talks regarding various industry softwares

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 75000 per year

Placement Experience

Since ours is the first batch in our course placements are yet to begin.Accord systems have signed MOU with our branch.Hopefully they will be providing internships.

College Events

Technical forum like ACStronix is good.annual fests will be there.Aero department conducts various technical programms on Kalam's birthday. Many placement drives are held once in year where more than 50 companies participate to recruit bright Engineers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is feasible. As I entered through CET quota I don't have much information about Management seats.I have heard that they charge about 1-2 lakhs per year for a management seat.I had paid 75000 through CET quota.Even Comed-k admissions are also there.

Fees and Financial Aid

No they didn't provide. But students under reservation class get Vidyasiri Scholarship. They even get scholarship in installments.chairmen scholarship are provided for some students

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio is around 1.Labs are good.sports day is held once in year.student forum is good.workshops are held good in number.Debates regarding issues will be held.Various extra curricular activities are held throughout which is a good initiative.

Hostel Facilities

No I have not opted. The hostel facilities are not upto the mark. They charge around 75000 for 1 year. Its too expensive. They have rooms of double sharing and triple sharing.Hostel mess is average. They have non veg as well.

Hostel Fee: INR 75000 per yearExternal Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really good and supportive.Alumni network is so good. Many of them are working in good companies.some of them are abroad

Admission

I am passionate about aero field. Since this was the only College under VTU,I choose this.I got admissions through CET quota. This institution provide good outcome in aero course. In upcomming days aero field has bright opportunities open for Fresh Engineers.

Faculty

Faculties are average and are good in numbers.Seminars are often held by industry experts. They also have experts from ISRO.They have provided Guest lectures when required. At present there are 6-7 lecturers in our department. They are Master degree holders as a minimum requirement.

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Likes

very first thing i like in the college is the wifi network,
the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

We have a temporary campus .which was taken as rent in goverment engeneering college raichur .and permanent campus was yet to finish by the time juniors come the permanent campus will be getting finished.just needed the proper campus no improvments
The campus life was not as expected by a student because here the cluns are not very active like in any other colleges , u can enjot a lot with your friends in your hostel.
Every branch has a faculty adviser we can meet them and discuss our problems with them .the faculry were very good they were well experienced ,they teach in general way as any teacher does on a digital board.

Dislikes

The placement cell is not that good , the students were not getting places for good amount of package as expected .
The labs were not well maintained that should be resolved that is the main problem in this college as well as library we have a very small library which is in a size of a regular class
Hostel was not within the campus which makes some difficulty to walk through the streets with roaming buses and cars and bikes , in our college boy girl ration was very less it is 1: 7 like that.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for taking interships and they get placed in 7th semester and have to leave campus after 8th semester the highest would somewhere aroubd 20 lpa and avg would be 9 to 10 lpa . I plan to do Mtech in any reputed college by writing gate . The percentage of studebts getting placed are 70 %
