Remarks

College management is very helpful. You can ask them for any type of help.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum of the course is similar to that of 12th in the 1st year but changes from 2nd year.we have subjects like public administration, nationalism (english) and 1 general elective in the 1st year. In the 1st year you get a lot of time to chill as their is no pressure on you to study. Some students utilize this time to learn some languages. We have no fixed time for attending the college it is as per the timetable of the specific course we usually have 2 to 3 lectures a day.

Placement Experience

3

The placement cell of the college is very active as it conducts various seminars, workshops and placement drives for the college. I had not involved in any placement because I had also something to do.

College Events

4.5

We have eca breaks in our college on Wednesday and Friday in which we celebrate these events. We celebrate annual day, sports day, freshers, farewell and our college conducts 2 fests which are zistatva and reverie. Apart from these we have departmental fests which is conducted by each department and society fests conducted by each society.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure and facilities. It is quite feasible. We have to pay 13500 for a year which entails for roughly 1000 a month which is far less than the fees of the private colleges and schools. I personally think 13500 for a year is less because it not only gives you good faculty, infrastructure but a degree from a reputed institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

To look after the financial needs of the students, the college offers the following scholarships- S.K. Sood Memorial Scholarship to two sportswomen of 6000 INR per annum. R.P. Cricket Academy Scholarship to 2 sportswomen of 6000 INR per annum. Fee concession at the time of admission is available only to outstanding sportswomen

Campus Life

5

There is a plethora of opportunities for students who want to take part in extracurricular activities, be it badminton, cricket, volleyball, football, etc. As for the labs, Gargi college is well equipped with three humongous computer labs. We also have chemistry, biology and physics labs.

Hostel Facilities

4

We don't have hostel in our college. However one can opt for a pg in south extension or green park. The rate varies from one to another according to the luxury provided to you. The basic rent is 8000 per month. No hostel available. One has to look for pg nearby i live in delhi so there is no need of pg for me. Being a government college yet infrastructure is very good it provides each and every facility to its students.

Alumni/Alumna

Sanya Malhotra is there from Dangal. Urvashi Rautela from Kaabil Huma Qureshi from Gangs of Wasseypur and also so many alumni. Our seniors was very helping in nature.

Admission

The candidate seeking admission in college must have filled the online registration form of the University of Delhi. They should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi to be eligible for admission to UG courses. For admission to Gargi College, candidates should qualify as per the cut-off percentages declared by the college. Applicants scored equal or more than cut off marks are considered for admission process.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college is pretty good. My department consists of 10 teachers and most of them hold a PhD degree from reputed colleges of India. The faculty is very helpful and we have general body meetings from time to time for departmental transparency.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting
