Remarks

One among the Best College and so is the Management

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Christ University was Christ college affiliated to Bangalore University and the course curriculum and the Exams structure were as per the Bangalore University terms. We did have assessments and exams monitored by external and Internal Faculties. Viva Voce for Science Practicals was only with external faculties

Placement Experience

3

Well, Placements and Internships have started much later, so I do not have much knowledge about that. But during my last visit to the college and during the discussion with the Chancellor, I did get to know that Placements are happening in many of the large organizations. They include MNC companies, Hotels, etc

College Events

4.5

Well, The best thing the college was known for was "The Spring Fest" - a cultural festival having participation from across the county which spread for over 2 days. During my period we started Computer Club - C CUBE and conducted the first intercollegiate Computer quiz with prize money of 10,000 for the winner. Presently each of the departments has its own festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very transparent and in 1988, I paid 3650/- as the first-year B.Sc fee. Every rupee is explained and I never had a feeling of getting over-charged as I was paying for whatever I was seeing and experiencing. The Quality of Faculty and the facilities vouched for it.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various Scholarships in the university and it is provided to the eligible students. Some were based on the economical background, some based on the performances, and so on. I never availed any of those hence I cannot give a better picture.

Campus Life

4.5

Earlier it was the only male, it was in 1989 the gender ratio came to almost 20% females from almost nil. Presently it is almost equal. The Extra-Curricular activities are also given equal preference. You did have large teams for culture and sports. Many of the people have excelled in their fields and have gone to greater heights. Most of the colleges those days did teach you the academics part, But Christ College developed you as a Human Being with academics as a part of your development.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No. The college does not have any Hostel facilities, But the Locality has a lot of PG facilities just outside the University compound with various facilities. Presently you do have accomodation in some campuses of the university

Alumni/Alumna

This Alumni is one of the best and have calenderised meeting and functions. This helps us to plan our activities so as not to miss these meetings.

Admission

There were no entrance exams during those days. Only had to submit the application form with copies of my marks card and other relevant documents. Once the list was put up, we were called for an interview with the principal and asked to pay the relevant subject fees.

Faculty

4

The Faculty at that time were well-known people and the books made by them were usually used as textbooks and recommended by the University. Prof Rao (HOD Physics), Prof Shastri (HOD Mathematics), Prof Desmond Fullinfaw (Dept of Mathematics) were some of the well-known people who had written books that were used as textbooks by the Bangalore University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
