Remarks

The Wilson college I would say is one of the best institutions, it was a blessing to me, I have made some of the best friends both student and faculty of whom I am still in touch with. It instilled in me confidence during the most sensitive and critical years of my life. The college not only gave me an education but an experience of a life time. The college teaches life skills, and trains students to face whatever life has to offer with determination and strength.

Course Curriculum Overview

We were the pilot batch of Mass Media students for the University of Mumbai. The course was new and interesting. There was a balance of the theory and practical which also involved a lot of on site projects, working directly with industrial professionals. The faculty was one of the best in the city made up of experienced and respected individuals from various fields pertaining to Media. The institute has a well stocked library continuously updating itself with the latest information available.

Placement Experience

4.5

Since we had a good faculty who was well connected and had a good network with the Media industry, we had an edge of securing interview and jobs with some of the best organisations and companies in the city and country. They went out of their way to train, help and support us in our placements post graduation. During our course we interned with the top publication houses, media and television companies, advertising agencies and newspapers.

College Events

4.5

There were various events, exhibitions and excursions during the year. Every department had its own event that they would organise as either an intra or inter college event. The Mass Media department of Wilson College would have an annual inter college event called Polaris. Different competitions, workshops and seminars were a part of this event. The college as a whole would also have an annual Nature Club exhibition, this was famous among the other institutions in the city and would gather a large number of students to view the exhibition.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Well the fee structure changed with time, but since this was a 'professional' course it was more expensive as compared to other general courses offered by the college. The fee structure covered tuition costs, library expenses besides other miscellaneous expenses.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not apply for any scholarship or student loans. However, I did know that the college office helped students with scholarships and there were many local banks that gave student loans as well.

Campus Life

The Wilson College had a great campus with students from all over the country and some international students as well. It had a well balanced gender ratio as well as a well balanced ratio of students from different economic backgrounds, ethnicities, languages and cultures. The college is welcoming and friendly and accepting. Students are encouraged and their confidence is built no matter what they are going through. The faculty offers a lot of support and encouragement and creates an atmosphere of acceptance and security. The faculty often participates with the students in events and befriends and guides them. The overall atmosphere is thriving, non judgemental and helpful. I have made many close friends here and we have remained friends till date. The college is united and the alumni look out for the students. Its a great college, one of the best I would say!

Hostel Facilities

Yes, living far away from the college was not easy and so I opted for the Hostel facilities. It was run by the college, well maintained, clean and safe. Living in the college hostel helped me concentrate and participate more in my course. It saved me a lot of travel time and helped me develop new lasting friendships with students from different faculties.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong and they look out for the students of the college. The alumni and faculty are well connected and stay in touch despite distance and time. This is because the college creates a united presence among the students and faculty instilling in them a bond that lasts through the years. The Wilson college is not just an institution but a memorable period in the individuals life creating life time memories.

Admission

You have to clear the entrance exam, then your name must show up on the merit list, followed by an interview with the Head of department. The interview is apparently the toughest part and this particular institution is know for that. The college is looking for all rounders who participate in various extracurricular activities and not just academic excellence.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty was one of the best in the city, they were well read professionals with relevant degrees, expertise and knowledge. Some of them were experienced individuals from the various fields of media. They made the course interesting going out of their way to organise field trips, excursions and guest lectures by renowned names in the industry.

Placement Experience:

Placement at GH Raisoni College Of Engineering and Management are moderate, especially for CSE/AI Student . Students become eligible from the 7th sem. companies like TCS, Infosys, and WIPro visit the campus. The higher package goes upto around 8-10 LPA, and the average Package is 3-4 LPA. Around 60-75% of students get placed. After graduation, i plan to work in software/AI roles and improve my skills through internship and Certifications.

Placement Experience:

The faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:20, and most teachers are quite approachable if you meet them during their free slots. I really appreciate the senior professors in the core departments because they have deep subject knowledge and explain concepts practically. However, some newer faculty members tend to stick strictly to the textbook or slides, which makes the lectures a bit dry. Since the college follows the SPPU pattern. I chose this course after a long CAP round process. Initially, I was aiming for VIT or DY Patil in Pune, and even checked out colleges in Mumbai and MVP KBTCOE in Nashik, but I ultimately landed here at AISSMS. The curriculum is quite comprehensive for building a strong engineering foundation, though I feel it could include more industry-relevant tools and coding workshops.

Placement Experience:

The placments are overall moderately good especially if you are from electrical branches including Electrical , Electronics, Computer, and Instrumentation Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. From third year onwards internship season starts where companies visits our campus and students need to go through online tests and series of interviews for each companies to get offer where the students selected for offer need to attend the internship after the end of third year in may and june when college have holidays. Similarly Based on performance the interns may get full time offer as well. Full Time Placement starts in final year and the process is exactly same where the interviews are mostly online and the students placed gets the offer letter. Almost 90 - 95% of the students especially of above branches gets placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So the Computer Engineering is all about core subjects which are really helpful for future like cloud, iot and Database etc But the syllabus of the university change after every 4 years and there is nothing but removing one subject and add another similar subject but I think in era of Ai and automation the syllabus is sort of outdated like if you are getting in Second year you have to learn subject which you have not interested in so you have to learn those subjects anyway and if you want to learn more about new skills you have to do it by yourself.
