The location of the college is its biggest strength as there is no inconvenience because it is located exactly at the hub of Kolkata. The faculty is great and the campus gives you an overall good vibe. Studying for the past 3 years , I wouldn't say there is any drawback but if you are studious enough and talented you will be recognized. Admission for 1st years is usually around the month of august every year. The admission process is simple and you just have to pass the preliminary round of interview and you are selected based on your merit . This college provides a good balance of college life plus quality education. It gives you the break you need, recognizes the potential talents you have and gives you a sense of belonging. I had searched using the main college website from google.
I had scored a 100 in sociology in my 12th exam, but always wanted to peruse psychology as it was also one of the subjects since my school. The faculty is great with professionals who are excellent teachers as well as practitioners. All the faculty members have a doctorate degree in the subject and most are specialized in the subfield of the subject The term exams were pretty timely and even during this pandemic situation our department of our college had been having regular classes so that we could feel that we are still students and we got a more in depth study from our professors during this time
The fees is pretty reasonable and most affordable compared fo all the other colleges in kolkata. The hike is usually not too much and it's still always affordable for most. A lot of scholarships like kanyashree etc are given my the college and as I'm still in my final year I am yet to discover the job and other stuff.
UDAAN is one of the biggest fest of kolkata organized every year by our college in the month of September, also we have, summer and winter fests from time to time to showcase our talents and also compete with other colleges. The library has tons of books and has an easy access code online for all its students The classrooms are good and well ventilated and due to the rich heritage of the college it gives you a very good old college vibes. Lots of sports and co curricular activities are held every year in which a lot of students participate. There is the students union which looks after all the other students and overall welfare of the college
They did have a pi when we were called for the admissions and checked why we were truly interested in the subject and what we hope from the department.
As I said In the last review, I am so new in this college that I literally do not know anything. But about the placement of our college, there is none, like literally none, there is no placement policy or support. But I am totally okay with it as I am preparing for UPSC
See, the university is not a commercial one. You can pursue honours, Masters, PhD and certificate courses in the university. There is no such campus placement system but the university has an employment cell which is mainly for those who pursue honours in foreign languages such as French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and many others.
My opinion about that my college performance about the management is not very well are principle need to rectify the system other wise no one can tolerate this system.
I got affirmation in this university based on 10+2 marks. The base imprints expected to get a confirmation in this school is 50% in 10+2. To get affirmation, first, the up-and-comer needs to fill the structure. As I have done B.A. from this college, my affirmation depends on the legitimacy list.
The college gives great positions to the students. Numerous seniors from my seashore were put with acceptable compensation bundles. Numerous students likewise landed government positions. Likewise, a portion of the students got entry-level positions in all around rumoured firms. I also got an internship at this university. After that, I was placed in the same firm.
Well, Presidency University (Erstwhile Hindoo College) is the oldest and one of the very first colleges to be established in India and is over 200 years old. Now a university, Presidency's allumni includes the two nobel laureates Amartya Sen and Abhijit Banerjee, the famed critic Gayatri Chakraborty Spivak while also being the alma mater to hallmarked names such as Henry Louis Vivian Derozio and others. Thus Presidency's famed English department had always been a dream seat to me and I'm humbled that I have got to study here.
The college and it's management is good but they need to improve some of the official process through online as it can save the time of the students and faculty both. Last but not the least university has a 4 storied central library with lacs of books.
There is Wi-Fi service for students. Labs are clean, and classrooms are neat. Sports and games are also a good part. They offer a big athletic track and there are many sports opportunities.
