Remarks

The college is located in the heart of Delhi which makes it convenient for everyone living in various parts of Delhi NCR to reach there and has a bus stand plus metro station just a few metres away. It's a premier institute of Delhi University providing home science, food technology, BE.Ed and masters courses for capacity building of women. The campus is quite peaceful, clean and green. The staff and teachers are supportive and encourage students to conduct various events and competitions on a regular basis. The lab facilities are excellent and well equipped with knowledgeable and helpful assistants for guidance. There are gardens inside where one can see organic vegetables and beautiful flowers growing.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course syllabus is thorough and updated as per the CBCS (Credit based course system) and is divided into 6 semesters throughout 3 year course. The marks are evaluated for each semester on the basis of internal exams, attendance, practical exam and external exam according to the CBCS system. The college conducts industrial visits for the students once in an year. The faculties are knowledgeable and have good expertise in their domains especially the Food and Nutrition faculty.

Internships Opportunities

Mother dairy fruit and vegetable Pvt Ltd, worked as an intern for 20 days, no stipend, got internship through my relative's connections with one of the ex employee

Placement Experience

The department of food and nutrition has completed first batch of B tech Food Technology successfully with 100% placements done in Nestle, Perfetti, Tqs global, FRAC, Sudha dairy etc. Since bachelors in food technology is newly introduced (3 years ago) and first batch is yet to pass out, no placements have taken place as of now. The post graduates are placed in various governmental and nongovernmental organizations, International agencies, Food industries, Catering Establishments, Hospitals and Teaching Institutions in India and abroad.

College Events

The institution aims at holistic development of students along with capacity building through academic programmes and various extra curricular activities like workshops, seminars, conferences, inter college competitions, public outreach activities in collaboration with industries, NGOs and research bodies. The students of our and other colleges participate actively in all the events and competitions conducted in the campus. There are various student societies made in college for students to showcase their talent in any of the domains (music, dance, drama, street play, literary, debating, NSS, fashion, eco club, fine arts, spicmacay, sports etc.) which participate in various inter college competitions and have bagged several prices till now. The DJ evening and annual fest 'QUINTESSENCE ' are conducted every year which has thousands of students attending from colleges all over Delhi NCR and have plethora of food and other commodities related stalls for everyone to enjoy. A freshers talent contest is held for new students to showcase their talents and witness good participation from the freshers.Other events celebrated throughout the year include Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Teacher's day, Fresher's party etc.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is quite vast and facilities provided include classroom with ICT Facilities, Library with OPAC system (has database of library holdings for easy access); air conditioned conference hall; internet work station with 30 computers; e- resource centre and big reading hall with good seating capacity, canteen with good and clean sitting area having chairs and tables, computer resource centre, hostel, placement cell, student corner, well equipped laboratories( Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Food and Nutrition, Microbiology etc.). The Campus is wifi enabled and covered with CCTV surveillance. It also has Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur study centre which consists of play school, creche and day care for small children along with early intervention centre for children with disabilities

Placement Experience:

Final your students are eligible for the campus placement. Companies visited are HDFC Bank, Zomato, Swiggy, mahindra,EY, Deloitte and others. Highest package was around 30 lacs per annum and the average package is around 4 lakhs. Job profiles were mostly business analyst, research and development, PR and others. I will prepare for civil services examinations after clearing my graduation.

Placement Experience:

Student set in the placement from 5th semester where where is companies visited college for the campus placement such as KPMG, Zomato Deloitte, etc and number of offers made were not explicitly disclosed by the college and highest package was 25 lakhs and average package was 4 lakhs and profile offered were finance, marketing, etc around 70% students placed from my college and my plans after the graduation is to pursue PHD.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
