Entrance Preview

I appeared for Jawaharlal Nehru Entrance Exam (JNUEE) for M.A. in Ancient History. The marks I scored were 68 out of 100. The reasons for choosing JNU over any other could be as follows This University is one of the best in the capital even for that matter in the country for procuring Masters or M.phil/Ph.D Degrees. If I cleared the Entrance Exam of the best why go for other Since I had for foreseen that I was going to be staying in Delhi for a sufficient amount of time JNU seemed like the best option.

Internships Opportunities

The University indeed has a Placement Cell. However the engaging tutorials and end-semester exams especially at Centre for Historical Studies restricts one to actually look for Internships.

Placement Experience

3

Did not get a chance venture the placement cell and other job opportunities during my time in JNU for the reasons mentioned above.

College Events

4

The vibrant culture of JNU is oft-quoted. The events celebrated in the college could range from a small freshers party, farewell parties,Hostel Cultural Nights to Food festivals in the hostels Inter-School Sports competitions or National Day celebrations. These events are organised by active participation of the students and sometimes faculty alike.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

A Scholarship which was constant in the Centre for Historical Studies was the MCM scholarship. It was given to students whose parent's guardian's income from all sources is 2,50,000 per annum or less. However I never availed any scholarship from the Centre or the University.

Campus Life

4.5

The liberal atmosphere academically brilliant and vibrant atmosphere of JNU is what I miss the most. You could have any talent and JNU is the place where you can bring forth that talent and shine. You surround yourself with natural greenery amazing views of the Qutub Minar or the JNU ridge authentic dhaba food light music which someone would be randomly playing with the help of guitar or a flute the incredible shayari all around and the diverse culture of students studying at the university.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are wonderful and resourceful to the newly admitted juniors who get lost among the fast-paced Semester System and all the happenings in JNU. The faculty is welcoming and would guide you well with all your queries. The most important person in the Centre, and probably in all other centres would definitely be the guy at the Photocopy Shop. Remember he has stayed longer at the university than any other student. Be friends with him,her and he will keep you updated with the latest reading material the professor gives or the pattern of the end-semester exam or the latest gossip going around the Centre.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for this course as I was interested in International relations and it's one of the best universities for the same. Teachers are excellent and with fewer few students, the faculty gives attention to each one of the students. One needs to pay thorough attention in class to pass the term exam. All teachers are well qualified and have excellent research experiences.

The Institute has made significant headway in the areas of training of criminal justice functionaries and others, as well as research in applied aspects of the twin subjects. The student should be a graduate in order to get admission. There will be a common entrance exam and based on the merit, they will be selected for the admission.
