Upasana Biswas's Review On Jadavpur University - [JU], Kolkata

Jadavpur University is a well known university and especially for it's departments of Arts and Science. Being an student in the Jadavpur University Department of English is an honour. the faculty of this department has outstanding scholar from the Oxford University and is very welcoming. this university opens up the space for each of it's student to learn and grow as an individual, without forcing the knowledge and path of their faculty upon their students. The English Department of this university stands by it's students, similar to all the other departments, by being fair in all their judgments and strict when necessary. I have chosen this specific course, as I have always wanted to study English and chose this University from all the goodwill of the University I have come across and I must say, it has stood up to it's name.

The course curriculum is very well updated and the students receive all the exposure to the real world that they might require. The students are rather encouraged to follow their academic passion and the faculty helps us in very way possible. I cannot, however, choose, but if I have to, the departments currently functioning HOD Ms. Rimi B. Chatterjee, is an excellent guidance and student will be glad to receive.

The placements in the University is exceptional and it brings home all the well-known companies to help the students land a good job. All the students this far, who have sat for these placements have received a job.

The campus life is very peaceful and warm. The students of this University understands personal space and helps the new comers settle into the space and make them feel at home. I have been a student in this University for two years now, and from personal experience, this University has grown to be a second home. The seniors are equally helpful. The events in this University is organised on a large scale and the participation in these events are from all over the city. Each department has their own freshers and farewell, as well as, one with all the students for all the faculties. The University has various clubs to help these young minds to showcase their talents and still have a connection with it, even when in college.

The infrastructure is very well maintained and the needs of all the students are fulfilled. The wi-fi facility is provided throughout the campus of the University to make it easier for the Students and so is the condition of the library. The library contains more than enough books to provide the students with all the guidance and support they need. Every department of this University has it's own library containing books of all genre, including a Central library, open to the students and scholars and even the graduates of the University. The University has five canteens throughout the Campus, and all of these maintain perfect hygiene and provides food with exceptional qualities and are very much affordable. The campus also has it's own medical shop to help with any necessity.
