Remarks

Brand name, heritage and department facility, good faculty, better opportunities to outshine. Sociology has always fascinated me and there are n number of opportunities to avail in this field

Course Curriculum Overview

Current syllabus is followed with real events. The method of teaching is also very unconventional and thus simple and easy to comprehend. The faculties here are very friendly and helpful which makes education here even more likeable

Course Fees: INR 39500 per year

Placement Experience

The faculty of engineering gets immense opportunities of placements, big companies like amazon, Microsoft, google, do offer large package to students. Other than that the arts faculty and the science faculty doesn't have placement cells

College Events

Jadavpur university is always filled with one or the other events, may it be small or large. Right from Big fests to small curriculum events, it's always decked up. Every student gets an opportunity to polish themselves up for their social life

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

I really liked geography as a subject for learning and exploring as it includes fieldwork , surveys and excursion which enhances our mind and experience in our life and this way we have many opportunities to learn new things in our life which is helpful for our future purposes. The only improvements I would like to note that to improve the toilet facilities and placement opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love to read English and it's easy for me so that's why I choose it. There are a total of 50 students in this course. Our teachers are very helpful and talented and also support us. We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.

To get admission, I had to first apply to the college by filling the application form present on the college website , once this was done, I had to submit the marks scored in grade 12th, after that the college would send us an email suggesting acceptance to the university.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score. The cutoff in the internal exam is around 70% for General Category and for CUET, the cutoff varies yearly....Read More
