Remarks

My college, Christ College, is located in the outskirts of Mysuru in Srirampura. Living in Pune it was difficult for my parents to leave me in a place where we had no relatives. But after seeing the campus and the administration of the college my parents finally agreed. Managed by the CMI fathers the campus is small but the well maintained and green campus draws us to it at the first instant. My college offers BCA, B. Sc, BBA, B. sc and B. Com under Mysore University. The college is strict in academics and attendance n also had many events to focus on extracurriculars too. Teaching faculty is excellent and we have job fairs. Contact the college n it keeps a regular touch with us guiding us on how to take admission. There is a hostel for boys in college. There are 2 girls hostel near college managed by sisters. There are many PGs too nearby. But our college lacks a few things like we don't have much hangout spots near college and very less students compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

We have triple main courses for BA and B.Sc. I have chosen B.Sc in Computers, Mathematics and Statistics because the combination of the three courses opens us to a wide variety of jobs and also gives us a higher preference among other B. Sc students. Our class has 14 students which give us personalised attention and the teachers are remarkable. There will be no stones unturned by the faculty to face the University exam. The teachers use all the methods to help us understand the topics and complete the portions before practical exams itself so that we have time to revise. We have 2 exams from the college each taken after a span of one month and by the time we face the university exam we are completely prepared.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Our course doesn't require an internship. Other courses which have internship are BBA and BCA. The internship process contains marks for them. They complete it diligently and from well-reputed places. Many have worked in Decathlon and other reputed companies.

Placement Experience

4.5

Third years have been given the promise of placement. We have a placement cell and placement officers who prepare opportunities for us and guide us through the interview. My seniors have been placed in Infosys and Wipro. The package from Infosys is 20k per month. I plan to face interviews but will prefer getting a pg first.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college takes very fewer fees and helps students with financial difficulties. We have scholarship too for candidates scoring good marks in 12th boards. Affordable and quality education. 50% concession given to candidates who score above 90% in 12th. We do have campus job drives and campus interviews. Guaranteed placement after the third year.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a fest for each department and then the college events like ethnic day and inter-department competitions to bring out talents. We conduct talents and have college choirs. We have a well-equipped library. The classrooms are spacious and airy with proper seating arrangements. We have very fewer joints to sit casually with friends but we have a jackfruit tree in front of the canteen which is the popular hotspot.

Hostel Facilities

5

I stay in a hostel named St. Bridget's Convent managed by Bridgetine sisters. A very calm and peaceful and serene place with lots of places to walk around. They have stables and coops and vegetables are grown by sisters themselves. Organic food. Lots of animals in the convent to play around and a park too. The best place to stay in Mysuru. The meals are healthy and sufficient and the sisters are very friendly. There is a church too in the convent so we are also invited for any functions and festivities. Every day is a day of peace and merry there. We have a study hall and there are kids from other colleges and we have a working women block. All are friendly and very helpful.

Interview Experience

4

We meet the academic co-ordinator when we go for admission process who assess us on our communication and marks and guide us to course which is suitable for us. He talks both to the student and parents personally and also talks to them together.

Indian Institute of Science - [IISc], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
