Remarks

The admission process started in July after the first cut-of went out I went to college there was a huge crowd of people. They were only allowing students to go into the admission section. Students were sent to the respective departments where they were supposed to take the admission after entering the department we were given admission form which we have to fill out and then we were asked to wait and assemble in the auditorium where they would take our names and the name of the course and we will be given the admission provided we deposit the fees and then we were given a receipt which we have to bring to college the next day. The area around the college is posh and very soothing but there is a little problem as only one bus 544 goes to this route but for people who come and go by metro there was a line of the auto was standing in front of the college some of them go to a green park and some of them to Moolchand. There are pages on FB like DU updates, Delhi University from which you can take help.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose this course because of my interest in biology and microbes. There were about 10 professors 10 lab assistants and 54 students. Faculty were highly qualified as all the faculty had completed their Ph.D.'s but their teaching method was very bad as they used to open the presentation and just read it out loud from the presentation and they would expect students to know everything beforehand without even teaching. Some of the teachers shout loudly at students if they make any mistakes in the practical files. The practical time was used to be very interesting because we learn about new microbes using a microscope. Exams were used to hold on time and the level of the exam was difficult as students from the microbiology department didn't get good marks as compared to the other science departments.

Placement Experience

0.5

2nd and 3rd-year students are eligible to sit for the placements. There are not many of placements for the science students most of the placements are for arts and commerce students. There are about 6 to7 companies visit during the placement season one of the names was E and Y which offered 5 lacs per annum. The average package is around 2 to 3 lacs per annum. Doubt 10% of students get placements from the college. Professors in our department told us to pursue higher education instead of getting a job after BSc as there is not much money. So I will be pursuing Masters's after BSc. For taking admission in masters degree students can take various coachings so that they are able to clear the entrance exams aur they can just rely on their marks to get admission into a good college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees were paid per year and the amount was 12000 rupees. During our three years' time, there was no hike in fees but this fee was comparatively high as compared to other science courses. There were several scholarships present scholarships one needs to go to the photocopy counter and ask for the scholarship forms. There were scholarships for poor students and for students who have scored good marks. I got one scholarship also. Apart from that, there was no financial assistance that you get. Talking about the jobs with stipend there were no jobs for Microbiology and even for any science department. The companies that used to come to the college were only interested in arts and commerce students and they were the ones who get the job and stipend.

Campus Life

4.5

The name of the annual fest of Gargi is Reverie which is among the top 10 fests conducted by du. It is conducted in the month of February. It's a three-day festival and lots of enjoyment dance, singing competitions. The technical fest conducted by the science department is Scintillations which is used to hold in the month of November and December in this microbiology department is winning it continuously for the 5th time. During the time of Diwali, there is also a festival held called Zistatva. Books are readily available in the library but students keep them so that other students hardly find anything. Classrooms are big and airy and there are fans available. Sports day is conducted at the time of November. There are college societies that are run by students like Sparx the choreography society, Kshitij the street play society, Hues the art society, Nazakat the Indian dance society, Enliven the western dance society. On Fb, there are pages like Reverie, Placement cell Gargi, Germs, Zistatva.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research | B. Pharma

I was more interested in Biology whereas B. Pharma had mainly chemistry that is why I did not take admission in this college

Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
