Remarks

So it started from my NEET exam, couldn't make it, sad right! So in the evening of my result day, I was watching CID and suddenly I thought of doing an extraordinary course, i.e., Forensic Science(which I got to know after searching online). Now the course has been decided but what about the college? So after looking up on the internet and after 2-3 recommendations, I got to know about Galgotias. Galgotias' has two campuses. One is GCET and the other one is 12km away from GCET, that is Galgotias University. Their infrastructures are beautiful, seeming like malls. But! Their bus service, classrooms and the management are not good enough. Broken chairs, projectors not working, no place for sitting at your free time and at last, that hectic time table(one lecture at 11 am, another will be at 2 pm). Getting admission at Galgotias University is quite easy. Get 60/65% marks and you get your merit cleared. I would generally not prefer this college, because of their bad management and ambience.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

One can choose this course of its less number of students or one can say participation in this subject. Out of 10, only 1 or 2 people would be knowing about this course, so this makes this course different from the others'. I took this course because of the lesser students, so lesser the competition will be. But after clearing 4 semesters I knew that one can do only a lab assistant or audit job and not more that after pursuing B.Sc. After M.Sc. you would have some more options. In Galgotias University, for Forensic Science, faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:10. Most of the teachers in our course had pursuit M.Sc. Only 2-3 teachers had done a PhD or equivalent. Only 3-4 teachers teach well, 1-2 teachers will make you write the notes, and the rest will just come, just dictate the PPTs and roll the slides. Exams are conducted at every 2.5 or 3 months. Overall there will be 18 exams(12 internals and 6 end term exams). One could easily clear the exam if studied 1 week prior to exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees of the course is Rs.60,000(Rs.50,000 tuition fees and Rs.10,000 exam fees, and no security fees). A hike of Rs.5,000 had been observed for the freshers, from the batch of 2019. Many scholarship programs are available, example, the college giving scholarship of its own to the ones who score 85-90% or above. They provide the students with state level scholarships also. Scope for jobs or placements for Forensic Science in this college is not that good. In my batch, out of 98 students, only 2 students got placed. For Engineering, the placements are good.

Campus Life

2

Apart of having a hectic time table, roaming here and there throughout the year, there comes a 3 day relief, that is, the Galgotias' annual fest. From dancing, singing, comedy shows to gaming challenges, fashion events and much more. Generally the fest is held in the most of February or April. Libraries are nice. With enormous number of books, the University have two peaceful libraries, having from the respected coursed to current affairs. Classrooms are big in size, but in most of the classes, either the back windows are broken ,or the chairs. Many sports events are held. In fact you would see students playing cricket or football at the grounds at any time. To soothe and relieve the stressed souls, there are many clubs, maintained by the students, like, the dance club, management club, how could one not say about the fashion and acting clubs. Great to see their events, held randomly and putting a jazz in the tiring life of the student.
