Remarks

Christ Deemed to be University was the first college I applied to after boards getting canceled. The admission cycle had started soon after. The candidate's eligibility for the courses differed from one course to another, mine required me to have passed in grade 12 (10+2). Even though the competition for admission in Christ University is tough it is not all that difficult if one is prepared. Christ University has CUET (Christ University Enterance Test) followed by one to one interview. The question paper of the enterance test depends on the course the student chooses. The student who gets through the CUET is then placed for an online one-to-one interview, which is the most important and the last part of the admission process. The key is to be confident but not overconfident.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was confused between Journalism and psychology for a course, but I got both and more in CEP, Communication, and Media (includes journalism), English and Psychology. The faculty-to-student ratio has dropped from 1:20 to 1:16. Some of the teachers are really good and know what they are teaching in and out whereas some of them have the degrees and the expertise to teach but there teaching method is not all that amazing, very few teachers even find it difficult to communicate with students freely considering not everyone knows Kannada. The mid-semester exams and the first-semester end semester exam were scheduled for when they should have been, however, the coronavirus had and still impacts all of us, so while creating the question papers the university was considerate of it.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like Ken Shiksha, GoCheck Media, TechTree, Innouer IT Ventures, Dhii systems offer positions of campus ambassadors, product ambassadors, marketing intern, Graphics Designer, catalyst, management trainee, sales and marketing, etc are offered to the students.

Placement Experience

5

The placement process at Christ is held from November to December and then from January to march every year. Usually, 80 or more companies come for the placement drive. Companies like Samsung, ICICI bank, Amazon, Reliance, Bisleri, etc are present. In 2019 number of students placed in the undergraduate program was 878 students and from the post-graduate program were 842 students. A total of 1,720 students were placed and an even more number of students were placed in the year before that. Out of 2,778 students, 2, 149 students were placed with the salary offering from 6 lakhs to 13.12 lakhs. The placement cell and the percentage at Christ University are exceptionally good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The non-refundable application fee is Rs. 5000. There is a different fee structure for different courses. The refundable semester-wise fee for Bachelor of Arts in Communication and media, English, and Psychology is Rs. 1,82,479 and the hostel fee ranges from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 8,000 per month. Christ University provides its student with types of scholorships and financial aids. Like it awards merit scholorship to its student depending on his/her in one end semester and two mid-semester exams of each year, however, in the first year it awarded on merit basis and pre-entery marks and attendance in regular classes.

Campus Life

5

Due to the pandemic, I haven't really had a fair insight into campus life yet but from the little experience that I do have, I would say campus life at Christ university is something I am very much looking forward to. The library at Christ University is especially huge, neatly divided into numerous genres. The university restricts us from being seated on the middle seats of the three-seater benches in the classroom to maintain physical distance. Christ also gives several sports options - football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, hockey, tennis, kabaddi, track and field, fitness center, and many more. Christ University, Bangalore even has a bird park on the campus to give a moment to those students who wish to stay connected to nature. Christ is even holding various online seminars, webinars, and conferences on all sorts of topics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I selected BA(English) course. Because I was quite good at English that's why I chose it. And I still Didn't go to college. Because our class starting date didn't announce by the college (Kittel arts college, Dharwad). That's why I have no idea about teaching staff and facilities. Of course, I hope it will be the best that I heard about this (kittel arts college, Dharwad) college. I heard only positive comments about this college.

Placement Experience:

In the final year students become eligible for placements and we have placement cell also. In 2nd year only we have attended 2-4 news channels interview and training. But due to pandemic, we didn't attend placements and all. And our seniors to didn't attend for placements because they are interested in higher education. So the percentage of placements is not clear, but for us, they prepared fully to attend any type of job interviews and also to handle all juniur of news channel and newspaper.
