Remarks

The admission in the MTech of NIT KKR is based on the process of MTech counselling CCMT organised by one of the NIT every year. The basis of counselling is your GATE Score. There is category-wise seat distribution. After the allotment of the seat in the college, a date is assigned for the admission and submitting fees and apply for a hostel if want to. The process is smooth and guided at each step by the faculty of NIT. I am a general student so there was no quota as such. I applied to this college only at my first priority because of the trade and college. The basis of admission is gate score and one can see the last yr cut off from the CCMT website to analyze once status for the current year. The fee of admission is submitted online also at the time of admission through net banking or UPI or ATM also.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because of the specialization of IP in its mechanical department. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:17 for MTech. All the faculties are PhD holders and at positions of asst. associate and professor post. Few ad-hoc PhD holder faculties are also appointed to help in the teaching. The teaching is very detailed and faculties often use a projector room or conference room for the teaching. Industrial visits are made to research labs and industries nearby like Karnal, Chandigarh, Delhi for the students. The exams are timely taken and the syllabus is decided by the faculty. The questions are framed by the faculty and checked by him/her only. However, the question type varies every time and faculty adhere to the pattern of the question paper decided by the dept but he can modify it according to the course need.

The internship of one year with PPO comes at end of 2nd sem of MTech and placements come from 3rd sem. Companies like L&T, Tata Motors, Stryker, Oxygen, ByJus, Capgemini, Accenture, Delhivery, Hero, Maruti and Suzuki, Godrej, ARB Bearings, Infosys and many more visit say 50+ visits and among them, for Mtech there are 30+ companies. The median salary is 500000/- INR pa and highest is 22 lakh and the lowest is 400000/- pa. Approx 30-45% get placed as an intern and placed students. I had planned for PhD so I headed for that and currently doing PhD from IIT Delhi.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are somewhat 48000/- to 52000/- INR per sem which is less as compared to other NITs of west and south. Apart from this, there is a hostel mess fee charged which accounts for roughly 4000/- INR for every hostel. There is a fee hike of 500-1000 every year. There is a scholarship for category students and other schemes regarding financial assistance is provided for students whose family income is less. The student has to apply for it in the accounts section of the college. There stipend provided by the MHRD of 12400/- INR for doing Mtech but for that monthly performance is monitored by the guide of the student. The internship opportunities arrive from the end of the 2nd sem of Mtech and the placement comes for the student in the 3rd sem of Mtech.

Campus Life

5

There is the biggest fest of north India called Confluence which has a lot of technical events, co-curricular events, gala nights and performances by leading celebrities in the field of comedy, dance, music, and acting. It is conducted in November and December generally. Also, there is two sports fest one for athletic and the other for activities like swimming, cricket, football, basketball, badminton and TT etc. Many classrooms are having ACs and coolers inbuilt. A lot of effort is given to sports and recreation activities. Apart from that round the year, cocurricular activities like dance, drama, music, poster, wall painting, photography, online gaming, speech, debate nukkad Natak69 etc. are organised by the student clubs for the college time to time and on events and festivals. There are a lot of clubs like literature, Hindi, photography, art and culture, technical clubs that students will enjoy during their stay in college. All are recognized by the college administration.

Remarks:

College management is fine. It can manage around 5000-7000 students very well. College has security guards everywhere in the campus for the security of students. It's a completely anti rag campus and has some strict rules and regulation. Amity is a research oriented university Overall amity group is quite decent.
