Exam taken was SRMEEE which is SRMs' Private exam. The same is followed by almost all the private institutions in India. I scored 12k rank and I chose this college obviously because of the rank I had got and the branch I wanted- Automobile Engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Course curriculum is quite good on the PAPER. The course structure is similar to Anna University curriculum. For automobile engineering specifically the student will be studying major Mechanical Subjects in the first 1.5 years which later shifts to specialisation in automobile.
Internships Opportunities
Till the time I was studying there, SRM was little slacking in the internship department. I am not aware about the current status in the college.
Placement Experience
Well this is one of the departments of the college which is quite good. Well connected. The amount of placement offers shown in their website is same as the placement offers received by students. The student is above average skills he/she will definitely get at least 1 offer from either an IT or core company. The core companies that come have a slightly strict criteria regarding the appearing students.
College Events
SRM is really good in the cultural department. Aarussh: The technical fest with competitions in which colleges from all over India participate. Milan is the cultural fest with competitions on debates, art and whatnot. Apart from this NCC, NSA and many more clubs for the overall growth of the student.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships in the 1st year are offered to those who are top rank holders in the SRMEEE after which it depends on the GPA maintained in the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumina of the college is spread across the globe and well connected. From IT companies to core to MIT students from SRM have reached all the major places in the country.
Exam Structure
The starting 1.5 months of the semester will very chilled out. But after that the exam cycle starts. First Cycle Test 1, then 15 days after they finish Cycle test 2 and Surprise tests then Model Exams and finally the End Sems. All in the period of about 4 months.
Faculty
The professors that one gets after the first 1.5 years are truly great teachers (well not all of them). The senior faculties : The HOD, and Professors above the Sr. grade are great. They have immense knowledge. But it ultimately depends on the students how much of that knowledge can he/she tap.
