Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty are highly qualified and have a great teaching methodology for all courses at BITS. Most of the CS courses are also available online and recorded for future reference. The slides and content delivery is great for all courses. Lecture Theatres have lectures and smaller classrooms have tutorials conducted every week. Flexibility to choose the professor at the start of the year by the students. Student: Faculty is approximately 70:1 in Tutorials and 200:1 in Lecture Theatres.

Internships Opportunities

Microsoft Research - Research Intern - 70k-80kAmerican Express - Research Intern - ~1L Projects Ranging from NLP and Computer Vision to Software Development across various verticals as part of the company.

Placement Experience

Campus placements are amazing. Average Placement for CS was 24.32L with most top companies visiting college for IT roles and Data Science roles. Students in their fourth year are eligible for placements and if you're working on a start-up, you're also eligible to come back and sit for placements after two years of graduation. Highest Package - Atlassian - 52L, Alphonso - 42L, Hasura- 50L, Uber - 39LI'll be joining as a Data Scientist in the Search Team at Lowe's India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Merit and Merit-cum-need scholarship available for everyone. Merit is for top 3% and MCN is for top 20% of the students which is approximately 120 students out of a batch of 600 people. People receive 15% to 80% scholarship for MCN and nearly 100% in Merit.

Campus Life

Waves is the cultural fest and has many departments and clubs working towards the same and planning start 4-5 months before the test. Many technical clubs such as Mobile App club, Machine Learning Club, Competitive Coding Club, etc are super inquisitive.

Hostel Facilities

Great single room occupancy for all students with no attach toilets. Common washrooms available but very affordable since 20,000 is the fees for full semester. Mess facility is available for an additional 10,000 per semester

No. Wrote BITSAT which is an entrance exam which is scored out of 450 and an average score of 290-300+ gets you admission to different programs. CS in Goa is usually at 350-358/450 and CS in Pilani above 385-390/450

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Likes

The faculty members are genuinely approachable, which makes it much easier to seek guidance beyond the standard syllabus
Located in the heart of Mapusa, the college’s central position makes daily commuting very convenient
Campus events like "Caculo’s Got Talent" , "Synergy" "IT Maestro " and "phoenix"offer a great, fun break from the academic routine.

Dislikes

The single-building campus structure can feel a bit restrictive for those expecting a more traditional, expansive campus atmosphere.
Due to the affiliation with Goa University, the curriculum can sometimes feel slightly dated and less aligned with rapidly changing industry trends.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell here is honestly one of the best parts of the experience—they’re super proactive, always keeping us on our toes with mock interviews and workshops that actually feel useful. We get into the placement groove in our final year, and it’s pretty cool to see the results. We’ve seen packages hit as high as ₹7.5 LPA, with an average around ₹3.8 LPA, which is a solid start in this industry. It’s great to see a variety of companies coming in, from tech-focused ones like RightScope, Transerve Technology, Letsapp, MinksPay, and Webnook to major recruiters like Bajaj Allianz, IDBI Bank, and Bharti AXA Life Insurance. A good number of my batchmates have already landed roles through these drives. As for me, I’m planning to take all the practical, hands-on skills I’ve picked up from my internships and extra tech courses and dive straight into the IT sector. Between that and the doors opened by the college’s MoU with the Goa Technology Association (GTA), I feel like I’ve got a real head start in the professional world.

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

Likes

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

The policies and facilities provided BITS are much better than those other colleges i was offered such as BITS has a policy of 0% attendance, all merit based admissions meaning 0% reservations and the placements and legacy the BITS tag hold is very reputed. BITS Pilani, Goa Campus- A road to an interesting life.

I applied to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and VIT apart from BITS. I got confirmed admission into VIT while the process for other colleges was ongoing. I withdrew from the process of other as soon as I got into BITS. I also withdrew my application from VIT. I chose this college over other colleges is because BITS is known for its excellence and great alumni network . It also has one of the most successful statistics of placements over other private colleges. The admission to BITS is done through BITSAT. It takes place every year along with Jee Mains and Jee Advance . The cutoffs vary every year for the courses and can be easily found on Google. This exam is of high eminence and is held high in place along with the JEE exams.
