Remarks

1.Institute of National repute. 2.One of the best college infrastructure amongst NITs.3. NIRF Ranking of 13 (AIR) and 2ns amongst NITs4. One of the highest GSOC selections in the world.5. 100% placements in CSE department

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Faculty is highly qualified. A decent faculty to student ratio is maintained and the teaching method adopted is excellent. The online mode has made the teaching a little less effective but still it is better than most colleges in India. The exams are conducted as per Academic Calendar and a maximum difference of 2 days occurs in the dates decided at the beginning of the semester. Midsem and Endsem exams are a bit difficult. However, all other exams are easy and manageable

Internships Opportunities

5

I have not opted for any internship yet. Internships are usually offered from 2nd year onwards.

Placement Experience

5

The average package for all branches is 10.5 LPA and 15-16 LPA for CSE and IT. Many companies visit NITK every year. Last year, the count is 260+. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, Walmart, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, and many more.In CSE and IT department, 100% placement is offered since the past few years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is a Government funded autonomous institute and hence, sudden fee hikes need not be expected. Financial assistance is available for students from the economically weaker sections of the society. Various other scholarships are also available.

Campus Life

5

NITK has various fests occuring inside and outside the campus. INCIDENT is the annual college fest which occurs in February every year. It is an excellent fest and is considered to be one of the best college fests in South India. There are a lot of fun activities, workshops and seminars that are organized as a part of Incident. It is fully conducted by the students and hence, the event is really engaging and fun-filled.ENGINEER is the tech festival of the college and is considered to be a good tech festival. It is definitely not the best, but it is good enough.NITK KITE FESTIVAL As the only college in India with a private beach, NITK Kite festival is a fun filled NITK "exclusive" event which might not be seen in any other college in India. The libraries are well equipped and all the labs have state of the art equipment. Sports and extracurricular activities are well incubated. Clubs are mostly run by students with Faculty Advisors presiding over them. Most of the clubs have their own websites and social media handles and recruitment is conducted regularly for some clubs to ensure maximum participation.

Admission

NITs require a good rank in JEE(Mains) examination. Both JOSAA and DASA students must write JEE(Mains) and admission is granted ONLY on the basis of JEE Ranks. No other factors like Interview or GDs exist as a part of admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
