Entrance Preview

For qualifying for the technical interview conducted in Amity Noida, the criteria was set to have more than 70% in PCM in 12th board. I got 78% in PCM and qualified the technical interview. Moreover, the new entrance examination, Amity-JEE, has been brought into place for selection of students. Amity is the best private institute in Delhi NCR area. It has the best infrastructure, rankings and global reputation for its academics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The basic course curriculum is very good in Amity. Outside the normal courses present in Mechanical and Automation Engineering, the college provides different foreign language classes all throughout the college years without any extra fees included in the course curriculum of each and every course present in the university.

Internships Opportunities

As I am a third year student and my industry internship is due in June-July this year so I can't share much in this regard. But, the students are free to opt for internship in any company/industry according to the students preference. If no arrangements are made om the student's behalf there is internship provided by the companies co-ordinated through the college.

Placement Experience

3.5

Again, being a 3rd year student I can't spread much light in this aspect but the involvement of the core companies are very few. The companies like Hyundai, Honda, Ford, etc visit the college for placements but, ironically, not for the Mechanical students. So, the option in case of the core companies are limited, but the placements overall is good with average package of almost 3.5-4.5 lac (just a rough approximation).

College Events

5

There are almost one or the other events happening all over the campus every week. They range from small exhibits to huge fests. There are 2-3 fests celebrated in the Noida campus, and all of them are very very good. Also, there are international conferences held in the campus like MANFEX, TRACE, CONFLUENCE, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for mechanical engineering is about 1lac per sem, which at first looks too much. But, considering the level of the university, locality of Delhi NCR, and keeping other considerations in mind, the fee is manageable. But there is no denying the fact that the overall expense of living here and paying the fees is little too much.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't have much idea about loans available, but there is a branch of Allahabad bank in the campus. Regarding scholarships, there are 2 scholarships available as per my knowledge. One of them is applicable if one has more than 93% and 88% in PCM in 12th boards.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is too good to believe. It's like the opposite of Haryana (but not in mechanical, obviously). The campus life is quite fun and full of exiciting experiences. There is a yearly sports event 'Sangathan' that is like a mini olympics of Amity. It is really competetive and fun to be a part of.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college hostel is available at Rs. 80,000 per year (without food, a/c) and Rs. 1.5 lc (a/c, without food). PG are available just across the street with lower room rents. I live in PG and would personally advise the same.

Exam Structure

The exams are quite strict and of decent level. But the scheduling of the exams are really poor. It is like having 2 exams in 14 days and in the next 2 days there are 3 exams, with 2 of them on the same day. Also, the classes and labs are quite frequent and in large numbers. So, there is very less free time for your own studies or other activities.

Admission

Firstly, I looked up for Amity online and on its official site I found all the information regarding its infrastructure, courses offered, faculty, admission procedure, admission form, etc. Also, there are phone numbers given where the officials guide you with all the necessary steps to be taken.

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
