Remarks

One of Top engineering colleges in India. Excellent faculty, facilities and a great alumni network all over the world. There's a lot of flexibility in programs and one can pursue both engineering and sciences degrees at the same time.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course and curriculum is top-notch in India. Enough focus is given towards compulsory courses and one has the option to pursue many elective courses as well ranging from technical to humanities electives. There are two internships provided to provide industry exposure. The computer science faculty is good.

Class Size: 600Course Fees: INR 1500000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I did a Data Science internship at Advertising and Marketing company called MiQ. The internship is provided based on your branch, CGPA and kind of projects you did. The stipend I got was 35000 per month.

Placement Experience

Placements are good. Almost all the big companies like Amazon, Intuit, Flipkart, Oracle, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm etc visit the campus. Alumni network is strong for job referrals. Founders of Postman, Big Basket, Red Bus etc. are from BITS.

College Events

College holds multiple fests throughout the year. The Tech Fest know as Quark has many extraordinary technical displays prepared by the students over a three day window period. The cultural fest Waves is also grand with many events and celebrity appearances. Both the events has huge number of participants from around 40-50 colleges in India. There is also one sports event.

Campus Life

Campus is pretty bid and spread in around 180 acres. It has all the necessary outdoor sports grounds like Cricket, football, basketball etc. as well as indoor sports complex like badminton, Table tennis etc. The Labs are also in a very good state.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are pretty neat and one of the best in India. There is single person occupancy with a table, bed, cupboard and chair already provided in the room. The hostel is regularly cleaned and the washrooms are washed regularly. Every student on campus has to avail the hostel facility provided by college.

Hostel Fee: INR 96000 per year

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Likes

The faculty members are genuinely approachable, which makes it much easier to seek guidance beyond the standard syllabus
Located in the heart of Mapusa, the college’s central position makes daily commuting very convenient
Campus events like "Caculo’s Got Talent" , "Synergy" "IT Maestro " and "phoenix"offer a great, fun break from the academic routine.

Dislikes

The single-building campus structure can feel a bit restrictive for those expecting a more traditional, expansive campus atmosphere.
Due to the affiliation with Goa University, the curriculum can sometimes feel slightly dated and less aligned with rapidly changing industry trends.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell here is honestly one of the best parts of the experience—they’re super proactive, always keeping us on our toes with mock interviews and workshops that actually feel useful. We get into the placement groove in our final year, and it’s pretty cool to see the results. We’ve seen packages hit as high as ₹7.5 LPA, with an average around ₹3.8 LPA, which is a solid start in this industry. It’s great to see a variety of companies coming in, from tech-focused ones like RightScope, Transerve Technology, Letsapp, MinksPay, and Webnook to major recruiters like Bajaj Allianz, IDBI Bank, and Bharti AXA Life Insurance. A good number of my batchmates have already landed roles through these drives. As for me, I’m planning to take all the practical, hands-on skills I’ve picked up from my internships and extra tech courses and dive straight into the IT sector. Between that and the doors opened by the college’s MoU with the Goa Technology Association (GTA), I feel like I’ve got a real head start in the professional world.

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

Likes

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

The policies and facilities provided BITS are much better than those other colleges i was offered such as BITS has a policy of 0% attendance, all merit based admissions meaning 0% reservations and the placements and legacy the BITS tag hold is very reputed. BITS Pilani, Goa Campus- A road to an interesting life.

I applied to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and VIT apart from BITS. I got confirmed admission into VIT while the process for other colleges was ongoing. I withdrew from the process of other as soon as I got into BITS. I also withdrew my application from VIT. I chose this college over other colleges is because BITS is known for its excellence and great alumni network . It also has one of the most successful statistics of placements over other private colleges. The admission to BITS is done through BITSAT. It takes place every year along with Jee Mains and Jee Advance . The cutoffs vary every year for the courses and can be easily found on Google. This exam is of high eminence and is held high in place along with the JEE exams. Bits Goa good or not

Most population here got because they didnt get IIT or got lower branch. But compared to orher NIT or IIT its best college. The fees is a bit high but the education and student life makes uo for it overall....Read More
