Remarks

Pros: Constantly increasing average package, very good curriculum, helpful faculties, nice environment to study.Cons: Permanent campus still not ready (most probably permanent campus will be ready in one to two years postal will be ready by end of 2021). Not very good for entrepreneurship (take ANY OTHER COLLEGE for it).

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum is very nice and it is very very similar to IIT Kharagpur. it provides a deep understanding of the subject. The faculty is very helpful and approachable. Exams are conducted on a regular basis for evaluation. Good for students focused on academics and want to have a masters in the in the subject.

Class Size: 95Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Many of our students opt for internship after 2nd year. IISC Bangalore IIT Bombay IIT Kharagpur, jio IIT BHU are among the passed recruiters from this college. This college has a decent Alumni network.

Placement Experience

The placements of this college are very promising and are constantly rising year by year. While the average package is increasing the highest on campus placement Steel constant for a few years. The top recruiter here is jio offering 17 lpa . 15 offers are made above 10 lpa this year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This college is a centrally funded technical institute (CFTI) so it is eligible for educational loans the tuition fees is around 90k per semester along with 10 - 15k of additional costs in academic section. The hostel fees is around 39k as of 2021 and it may increase in future. the fees is decent and not very high and quite similar to other government funded engineering colleges like IITs and NITs and some other colleges.

Campus Life

3.5

Personally since my admission I have spent my two semesters in online medium from home and I haven't visited the campus year and the offline classes are yet to start once the covid pandemic but I have learnt from my seniors that college has a decent library and quite a few sports ground to play. There are many clubs in the college related to various aspects and they are quite active and conduct activities regularly. specially the technical clubs are very very active and there were very helpful, especially the competitive programming club, cultural club and a separate club for developers. The college website is maintained by the students of the college. Classrooms are also quite decent as they are currently running on the temporary campus has the permanent campus is being constructed and should be ready in one to two years.

JEE MAINS RANK My rank: 41.9k

Admission

There is no written test or interview at the time of admission as it is purely based on the JEE mains rank and the counselling is done through the JoSAA online portal. we have to pay a security fees at the time of admission which is then deducted from the semester fees of the first semester and other uh instructions are clearly provided in the the college website. They also provide helpline numbers for any queries related to admission process.

Fixed timetable Classes, regular assessment and class test
The professors are very qualified and their teaching style is excellent.
A lot of books are available in the main library as well as in the department library

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of Calcutta University is aligned with other entrance examination (eg.IIT JAM, JEST, TIFR, GATE etc.) Specially for the Physics BSc course. And the syllabus is updated Artificial intelligence bacis, Python Advance level is in syllabus, it's completed in college. Point to be Noted - The time given to prepare for the exam is sometimes ample but sometimes it is very less. So we have to prepare syllabus in time which is little bit frustrating.

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nothing specific just the campus attracted me Curriculum is preparing me for the real world approach and its doing good enough the academic pursuits is good Teachers should teach in a good way so that every student should understand Frequently the timing of exam is 3 hrs but sometimes it takes 1 hrs

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

The Framework is said to be great, with well equipped classroom and simply get to the libraries.
The offices at this college are great. In any case, these changes depending on the quality of the companies going by the college and the victory of the internship changes by the internship.
Understudies appreciate the campus life and flexibility to associate with others understudies. However, there are few impediments such as the division of floors between senior and junior. College life is nice and could be an inviting place for others

Dislikes

The college doesn't have lodging, and understudies must organize their settlement locally.
The college doesn't have a big field to play like any other big college

Placement Experience:

In Syamaprasad College placements and internships are given to the final year students. And the companies that offer placements are Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. The highest package goes up to 20-24 lakhs and the average package goes to 6-8 lakhs. 70-80% of students get their placement in my college. At that time I planned to get the degree and apply to a multinational company with a high salary package with company facilities.
