Remarks
IIM Sirmaur is one of the fastest growing Baby IIM's. Over the past 5 years, its placement track record has also improved. You have to get at least 50% marks in your UG along with a minimum cut off of 93 percentile in the CAT exam. The shortlisted students will then get a PI call. The overall process is a little time consuming and can at times take a toll on your patience.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 6 trimesters over the entire 2 year course duration. In the first year, you have to do compulsorily all subjects, and in the second year, you can choose subjects as per your preferred specialization. End term exams are moderately difficult and online medium doesn't pose any serious challenges.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides good SIP placements. The highest stipend is Rs 1,10,000 and the average stipend is around 30,000-40,000 per month.FMCG, Logistics, Real Estate, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, etc all sectors' see companies coming for summer interns.
Placement Experience
The placements are impressive! The highest CTC is Rs 16 Lakhs per annum, and the average package ranges from 9-10 lakhs per annum. BFSI, Consulting, ED tech, FMCG, IT, Logistics etc are the top industries that recruit from here. The top companies are ICICI Bank, EY, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank, etc are the top companies that come here.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is Rupees 11,75,000 per year. But, since average package is around 10 lakh rupees per year, therefore, the ROI is pretty decent. There is scholarship given to those who did well in their CAT, Xth, XIIth and UG and also in the 2nd year for those who do well in the 1st year's exams.
Campus Life
There are 10+ clubs, cells and committees in IIM Sirmaur. Trading and investment club, quiz club, Finance cell, Vibgyor (photography club), etc are examples. The infrastructure of the campus is above average. It is overall, a good experience.
Interview Experience
Due to online admission process in COVID times, the WAT round has been scrapped. PI questions range from general personality based questions like 'tell me about yourself', to GK and current affairs based questions like 'What is the state of India's economy, right now?'.
