Remarks

Eligibility for B.Tech Biotechnology in SRMIST Chennai. Firstly I gave SRM JEE exam, the application fee is 1200 INR, and the exam is for 2 hours. The cut-off is released after the conclusion of the exam. For biotechnology cut-off rank was 48000 in 2019.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very well-versed and diverse here. Faculties are mostly Ph.D. scholars. They are highly qualified and their teaching is top-notch. Exams are held at very fixed times and schedules. The exams are held with very strict invigilation.

My college offers internships in the last year along with placement offers. Students can opt for an internship or permanent placement or higher studies in the country or abroad. The college provides offers for all the fields. The average stipend offered for an internship is 10,000 per month.

Placement Experience

The campus placements at my college are very good. It offers 98% placement. Almost all branches get good placement offers in core as well as non-core departments. Though the core placement is not that high but non-core placements are top-notch. My plans after getting the degree are to take the placement offer and work in the corporate field for future career development.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite high here at SRMIST Chennai. Now, after Covid, the fee structure has increased a bit more. We can apply for various scholarships according to the GPA criteria. It should be above 9.5 or 9.0 on average. For economically weaker sections of society, financial assistance is very good.

Campus Life

MILAN & AARUUSH are two main annual fests held every year in college. Students from all over the state come and enjoy the full cultural fest vibe. The Libra of our campus is immensely good and popular with a variety of books and journals. Various groups like Biocon, srm Pedia, hacker rank, etc. are run by the students here.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility at SRMIST is very good. The mess foods are healthy and contain north and south Indian meals together. Veg and Non-Veg sections are bifurcated. The hostel's in and out time is strictly followed here, especially for girls. The in-time for girls is 7 p.m. from 5 a.m. The rented accommodations and PGs are easily affordable, with ac and all the basic facilities, they are also very easy to find and available.

Placement Experience:

In our University from the starting of Seventh semester we are eligible for campus placements. Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Likes

Many clubs available from Toastmasters to Campus Life, Our club Toastmasters is one of the peak highlights of our college. We regularly go to corporates to attend meetings of their clubs and network a lot.
Love the Research setup of our college. Has more than 15 COEs present. ABB research centre is the best among them
The bring in a lot of industry professionals every.One or the other event always keeps happening.

Dislikes

Campus is not very huge since it's in the centre of the city but the outside shops make up for this

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

The library is really Awesome in every aspect.
The facilities and labs and everything needed for studies is way above the bar. Great university to actually study and research.

No culturals, and if there is some only secular songs
Strict rules (needed, but some are too strict)

Placement Experience:

From the sixth semester the student are eligible for placements and prominent companies such as bicon, lifecell, zoho, Thermofisher, lmt mindtree, jubilant food works, siemens, bioartha and around 2030 offers has been made os of april 2026 for my batch. the percentage of students getting placed is over 95 percent as the rest of the students have opted for higher studies like me. i plan on doing my masters abroad.

Colleges which I have applied for was Sree Ramachandra institute in tamil nadu, MGR University IISER But I only got confirmed admission from SRM by writing a medical entrance exam.
