What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the Campus so much, as it's very green and the environment is very pure, students are not allowed any vehicle inside campus
- The locality of our campus (i.e. centre of city) making so many things accessible to is and a good college life.
- The fest- we get to enjoy so much in our college fests and the extra curricular activities.
Dislikes
- The thing I disliked most is the fixed entry time only for girls.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as a bare minimum to enter the college ( preferring college over a branch) because the quality of the surroundings and the students there matter more. The faculty-student ratio is 1:20. Most of the faculties in our course are PhDs from foreign universities. After almost 1.5-2 months we have our term exams and the difficulty level depends on the course teacher.
Internships Opportunities
Expedia, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Texas, Juspay, Reliance Industries, TVS Motors, and Infineon Technologies with different roles in every company. There was no company, particularly for Civil Engineering Course.
Placement Experience
From the 7th Semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visit our course are L&T, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Expedia, etc. My plan is to sit for placements and secure a good-paying job.
Fees and Financial Aid
A lump sum of 2.5 lakhs per year is spent every year if you are a hosteller here and from the general category. I have applied for a SDEF scholarship and waiting for its results. But one can get ample scholarship opportunities and your fees will also be reduced according to your annual income if it's less than 5 lakhs. Currently, I am a 3rd-year student and will be sitting in placements in my 4th year.
Campus Life
Annual fest - Blitzschlag (Generally around February). Technical fest - Sphinx (In January). There are a lot of books, e-books, and journals in our library. Every classroom has a smart board, green board, projector, AC, mic, and speaker. Athletic meets are conducted from time to time in different sports, and extracurricular activities like Dance, Music, Singing, Art and Tech clubs are also there. Entrepreneurship Club is also there for students that are run by students only.
Admission
First of all, it's an NIT ( a college of national importance), so you need to qualify for the minimum eligibility criteria which at our time was 75% in 12th boards and qualifying JEE Mains. To apply for the college you just need to give JEE Mains and apply for Josaa Counselling and fill in your choices of college in priority along with the branch. I had got benefitted from the EWS reservation which is 10% + women's reservation (so if you are a girl it's relatively easier to get admitted).
Other Applied Colleges
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - [Thapar University] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Due to high college fees
