Remarks

Being a IT/CS college there is no good environment of coding and programming. The interaction between seniors and juniors is very low. Doing out of box thing is very challenging and less appreciating here.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE (JEE MAINS) secured 180 out of 360 in 2013 direct admission on the basis of your rank and thee choice filling. courses available are IT (IPG+MBA/M.TECH) CS (B.TECH)

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Beware that it is a ICT course of 5 years and not IT course. you shall get a degree of IPG in 5 years. If your interest is towards research this is a better place for you. But not good academic environment for a IT or CS program course. No subjects or courses focusing on coding or programming

Internships Opportunities

NO. For internships you yourself have to apply for different companies and on online sites. though there is a placement cell which helps students get internships from some companies.

Placement Experience

2

Very poor. According to the name and fame of the college (IIT) the PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES ARE VERY BAD. Very less students get places in good companies (offering a package of more than 8 lakhs) most of the student have to go with the C-grade companies and start off with a monthly salary of 25-30k.

College Events

2.5

Technical: Infotsav This institute organises events that acknowledges technological innovations and management procedures with accolades every year. Cultural: Aurora This is a cultural festival held over a period of three days in the month of February/ March. Sports: Urja – This is an intra-institute. Spread over three days during February/ March, learners are encouraged to participate in this event at least in the form of a spectator. Twaran – Twaran is an inter IIITM athletics meet also held around February/ March every year. Students from four IIITMs in Allahabad, Jabalpur, Kanchipuram, and Gwalior take part in this track and field competition with zeal and enthusiasm.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Recently the fees of government colleges and institutes have increased. NO. the college don't provide scholarships or loan facilities to students. though student belonging to minor community and backward classes are provided scholarships on the basis of their family income. Some facilities like library book issuance for longer period are provided to some students.

Campus Life

4

The institute campus is spread over 160 acres (0.65 km2) amidst picturesque landscape in the foothills of the Gwalior Fort. There are around 800-900 students (700 boys and 150 girls) in total. There are labs and clubs for various purposes (be it sports, cultural, art or academics) The institute presently has laboratories required for various courses such as Physics, Electronics, and Digital Logic, Engineering Process in addition to other computer laboratories. The laboratory facilities are continuously being enhanced to cater the ever expanding academic and research needs. The Institute has state-of-the-art computer facilities in the form of dedicated linux and windows labs. The current day standard IT tools used in various functional areas likes marketing research, decision support system operational research also act as resource multipliers. IIITM has more than 11 laboratories for various disciplines like operating systems, database systems, software engineering, CRM, Networking protocols and Multimedia. These labs are a constant hub of activities day and night.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

HOSTEL FACILITIES are very good. Single room occupancy with nice infrastructure. Rooms are internet accessible and are sufficiently illuminated and ventilated. Bathrooms are fitted with geysers for supplying hot water as and when necessary. Filtered drinking water is available throughout day and night in these hostels. Each hostel is provided with a reading room, badminton court and table tennis board for recreation of boarders. Mess is of course an inseparable part of these hostels. Hostel residents are offered breakfast, lunch and dinner on all days including holidays. However, mess charge separately for food served during vacations. Boys’ Hostels There are three boys’ hostels with distribution pattern: BH 1 with capacity of 313 students; BH 2 with capacity of 311 students; BH 3 with capacity of 256 students. Girls’ Hostel There is a single girls’ hostel with a capacity for housing 135 students. This number is expected to cross 150 shortly. MESS: The food at mess is not very good.

Alumni/Alumna

There is very less interaction and involvement of alumni of ABV-IIITM. There are different activities and programs held to invite and increase interaction between alumni and current student but the amount of involvement of alumni is very low.

Exam Structure

There are a total of 10 semesters in IPG course and 8 semesters in CS b.tech course. Education at the Institute is organized around the semester-based credit system of study. The prominent features of the credit system are a process of continuous evaluation of a student’s performance/progress and flexibility to allow a student to progress at an optimum pace suited to his/her ability or convenience, subject to fulfilling minimum requirements for continuation. A student is allowed to attend classes in a course and earn credit for it, only if he/she has registered for that course. A student’s performance/progress is measured by the number of credits that he/she has earned, i.e. completed satisfactorily. Based on the course credits and grade obtained by the student, grade point average is calculated. All programmes are defined by the total credit requirement and a pattern of credit distribution over courses of different categories. Details are given in Course Contents

Admission

Score good marks in JEE mains and 12 board exams. Fill the choice filling according to the overall college rankings and your choice/preference for the field. College shall be allotted as a result of 1st round counselling with further up-gradation in 2nd round and spot rounds.

Faculty

2

Faculty at ABV-IIITM Gwalior are well educated with so many degrees and education profiles. But speaking about the way of teaching, it is same as the other government colleges. Very less professors are interested in quality education and most of them just do their jobs (delivering lectures and leave)

College creates a very vibrant and positive college atmosphere that is conducive to learning and participating actively in whatever goes on. The management is student-friendly, and I believe that issues can be resolved through a dialogue. Very good and very relaxed. Especially about clothes, sitting and working in the corridors or waiting for the next class. They respected us and treated us like adults which is very helpful.
