Inside out of IIM Sirmaur

The course curriculum is well thought out and follows the curriculum of IIM Lucknow as it was the mentor IIM. Over the first year, all the domains are taught and in the 2nd year, one has to choose electives. Recently there's been a change and one can only select electives from 3 areas and 2 additional electives from any area.

The internship opportunities start coming from the month of July itself with companies like ICICI, HDFC and many others. The roles offered are also very diverse and students get ample opportunity.

My college does provide placement and placements are going up every year. Students become eligible from the 4th semester itself for campus placements. The highest package was of 64 Lakh per annum and last year there were mainly financial roles. Almost all the students get placed.

The fee is increasing with every batch. The 2023 batch had a fee of 12 Lakhs and my batch has a fee of 14 Lakhs. This fee does not include the mess fee of 6000 per month. However, the hostel fee is included in 14 Lakhs.

The campus life is a pretty good one and includes all that one can expect from MBA. One gets to meet people from almost all over India, engage in various activities with various people and get full-time exposure. Then there are various committees and cell that work on day to day functioning of institute. Also there are clubs which are divided by domain based and interest based which again provide students with various opportunities to showcase their skills and grow their knowledge.

The hostel facilities includefully automatic washing machines, water cooler, wifi in every room, and standing fan. Other than that all basic amenities like bed, study table, almirah are also there. We are also provided with buckets for bathing and dustbins for everyroom. Also, the cleaning staff in available everyday.

The exam that I appeared for was CAT which is accepted by all IIMs and many other major B-schools. The minimum eligibility criteria were a graduation degree, the CAT score, and the GD/PI round score. In my case, only PI was conducted.

During my selection process I faced personal interview. The interview was pretty basic starting with an introduction, then strengths and weakness, followed by some general knowledge questions. Then there were some questions regarding the internship that I did as part of my undergraduate degree.
