IIM Sirmaur Institute review

An MBA from an institute of national importance was a dream from the beginning of my CAT preparation. The faculty in IIM Sirmaur is at par when compared to all other institutes. The in-house are well complemented by the visiting faculties, and the students reap all the benefits from the same. All the faculties are PhD holders and have relevant industry experience. There are a total of 6 term exams with moderate difficulty.

The placement season starts in the second year. Several companies have visited for campus recruitment which included Deloitte, Amazon, DCM, Mahindra, L&T etc... detailed report is provided on the institute's website.100% of the students are placed from the campus recruitment. My plan is to work in a reputed company as a marketing manager.

The fee is constituted to about 15 lakhs for two years. Since the campus is functioning in its temporary campus, the fee structure is low compared to other b schools in the same league. There are several scholarships available whose details are clearly mentioned on the website of the institute

The campus life is moderately good. The fact that the campus still functions in its temporary campus is a con, also many of the hostels are located outside the campus premises which makes it a bit difficult. all other amenities are at par. They have 24 hrs working gym and library. all the student committees, clubs and cells are student-run.

The hostel rooms are pretty good, and the mess quality is also satisfactory. The room is provided with a bed, table, chair and a pedestal fan. Washing machines are also available In the common area. The staff also does regular cleaning.

The admission process was managed and handled by the Indian Institute of Management Trichy for the year 2022. The admission process was solely based on the CAT score and the profile score. After clearing the CAT cut off I was selected for the PI round, which I was able to convert successfully. Due to my NC OBC reservation, the cut-off was slightly lower than the general cut-off. The reservation details were clearly mentioned in the cat form and the required procedures were taken care from the municipal office in my hometown.

GD topics included the basics of business management and current affairs. The PI round was conducted following the CAT examination. The preparation was mainly focussed on the PI test materials found online and newspaper readings for current affairs.
