Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because of the vast opportunities that it provides. The faculty is appropriately qualified and available outside the classes to clear doubts, etc. The exams were conducted according to the set timetable provided at the beginning of the term and it's not difficult to pass them if you study properly.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies coming for providing internship opportunities like ICICI bank, HDFC bank, Himachal Government, ABP Learning technologies, Outlook, Daimler Truck, Khandelia oil, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Powergrid, Adani group, Tirupati Life Science, Accenture, CarrerCarve, DCM Shriram, etc. stipend provided varies from company to company and roles.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for campus placements after the IV term. The highest package for placement season 2020-2022 was 26.5 LPA, and the average was 12.74 LPA. Ninety-nine percent of students get placed by the institute, some have PPOs from their internships, and some opt out of the campus placement process.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is around 14 lakhs overall plus the mess fees which is about 55000 per annum. The institute provides various opportunities for financial assistance and scholarships to economically weaker students who qualify for the academic criteria.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest SIERRA is mostly held around February, which is enjoyable. A variety of books are available in the library, and access to the e-library is also provided, with a vast selection of books to help us. The classrooms have whiteboards and projectors for however the faculty wants to teach. There are many interest-based and domain-based clubs.
Hostel Facilities
We have a bed, table, chair, almirah, pillow, and decent-quality mattress. Most of the rooms are double sharing. The washrooms are common, and washing machines are available in the hostel on each floor.
Admission
Clear the cut-off of CAT, then PI score, previous academic performance, and corporate experience, if any, are considered to make the final list of students who can get admission. For some, there is only the joint PI and for others, there can be the PI round conducted by IIM Sirmaur only.
Interview Experience
The admission was based on the CAT percentile achieved, and then further a personal interview round was conducted CAP jointly with all other new IIMs, there was no group discussion round. We were told beforehand all the basic details about the PI process via mail.
