Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum and faculty are good and the teaching is easy to understand. I chose this course because of my interest in computers and the opportunities that this field provides. The faculty-to-student ratio is not well as the intake of students was very high this year. The faculties are qualified and use teaching methods that are easy to understand. Term exams are irregular with mid-semester exams taking place every month (3 times in 4 months excluding end-semester exams).
Internships Opportunities
Many renowned companies like TCS provide offers and internships on campus providing on-field experiences with a stipend of around 10000rs per month. Projects may include some minor work in the company under the training and supervision of senior staff.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are promised by the college and students become eligible in 4th year. Many companies like TCS, Wipro, and Accenture including MNCs like Google, and Infosys visit the campus with around 10,000 offers made. The highest-ever package offered was around 1 crore and the average package stands at 7.58 lpa. Placement percentage amounts to 100%. After getting my degree I plan to pursue higher education in M.Tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are higher than an average college with limited scholarships and financial assistance. However, the opportunities provided are immense and the institute promises guaranteed placements. For 1st year such as me, job opportunities are still limited though.
Campus Life
Campus life is not too tough, not too easygoing. The number of fellow students is very high so you get to meet all kinds of people from all over the country. The number and fields of clubs are very limited though. The annual fest is MILAN and it is conducted around the month of March. Many books are available in the College Library covering almost every field in any course. Amenities in the classroom include Air conditioning, a projector, and wifi, drinking water is available outside the classrooms. The institution provides sports and extracurricular activities on campus with sports grounds for running, football, badminton, etc. The Directorate of Student Affairs is an institute body run by students and oversees all other clubs and major activities that concern the students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is not too great and many difficulties are faced by students in the hostel. My room only provides only 2 fans for 4 students and 4 cots qnd 4 almirahs. Common bathrooms are not clean and are stinky, with many taps and toilet seats broken. The number of bathroom cabins is also very less considering the number of students on each floor. Meal quality is not good although the menu has variety. The registration process was easy but very costly in comparison to the facilities provided.
Admission
The eligibility for the course was a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM in 12th. The exam was conducted in 3 phases. The application form can be easily accessed on the institute's website, The application fee was 1200 Rs for each phase and the form can be applied a week or two prior to the examination. The examination was online with the venue as the participant's home itself. The cutoff was higher than average this year as the number of participants was high. Improvements can be made by taking feedback from participants after the examination.
