- Hostel seats are very limited so students have to manage their accommodation themselves.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always had a incline towards civil engineering in general and after i got a good rank i was able to get into JU with my favorite branch, The curriculum here in JU is designed quite good, which helps a student to prepare very effectively for the real life problems. Exams happens round the year with 2 major Semester exam per year, exams are not that difficult but are not easy as well.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies like apple google meta visit us during our placement season. Companies like airbus also give ppo when they visit during campus rounds. These companies also provide internships to some students and students then get ppo according to their performance. Details of stipends is not made public so I do not have a solid backing for it.
Placement Experience
JU has a very rich placements stats. Students become eligible for placements from their 3rd year. The 2023 placement season saw a very great stats where branches like mechanical engineering saw a 100% placement record. The university average pacakage stood at 10 LPA and avg pacakage of CSE department stood at 23.7 LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is very low in JU its a mere 9600/- for a 4 year Bachelor in Engineering programme, apart from this fees has not been hiked since a very long time. Students who find it difficult to manage this fees aswell they are given freeship scholarship by the university which helps them to study in almost free.
Campus Life
JU has many fests round the year: U TURN : A sports cultural fest for freshers. SRIJAN: The annual Techno-Management fest of Jadavpur University. SANSKRITI: The annual cultural fest of JU apart from these there is ARENA which is a sports fest. Then every department have their own fests and sports week. these fests help the students to maintain their mental peace with the busy schedule of their college life.
Admission
Any one who has passes class 12 is eligible for engineering and pharmacy programme in Jadavpur University. To get into JU students have to sit for the WBJEE exam and be among the top rankers to get JU Forms for wbjee usually start from december. Its difficulty level is a above JEE Mains and a bit below JEE Advanced. Exam happens every year after april usually.
