Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum is good but not very good. Some of the faculty members are stuck with the old PPTs despite being very brilliant. The course material is seldom updated, and mostly the same slides are recycled every year until they get outdated. The college could update the course material every year. There are a few real-world applications for whatever is taught in class but mostly the system encourages a pen-and-paper exam approach to studying. There is a mid-term exam and an end-term exam, with 3 quizzes throughout the semester. The quizzes are easy but the exams can be quite uncertain.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

The internship opportunities are somewhat lacking. The number of people chosen to do internships on campus could be higher, the fraction is very low. The stipend can be decent but the number of opportunities isn't high enough.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the 7th semester onwards people can be eligible for campus placements, and the drive starts at around the same time as the year starts. A lot of companies visit MUJ, including Deloitte, BlackRock and Dell. The highest placement so far has been 80LPA. The average is decent at around 10LPA. A good amount of students get placed in different companies, while some try outside the campus. My plans after getting the degree are to start and scale my own startup.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fee for us is Rs 339900 unchanged but it increases every year for freshers. The registration fee is Rs 1500 and there's also a Rs 10000 security deposit made beforehand. There are scholarships provided on many different criteria, including army scholarships and single-mother household scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is vibrant and cheerful, because of the variety of students present in the campus. The annual fest is called oneiros and it takes place around January, with different programs scheduled over 3 days. On top of that there are a lot of technical fests taking place randomly. The library is amazing and big. The books that can be found are mostly related to the subject matter of whatever's taught in the college but the library still has quite a collection. There are a lot of clubs as well, but the best club experience is only available to those who live in the official hostel, and not to outsiders. The classrooms have a projector to facilitate enhanced learning.

Admission

I received offers from various colleges like TIET, Amity University Dehradun, UPES and GEU but I declined their offers to study in MUJ. I chose this college because it aligns the most with my vision for my future, in terms of a lot of aspects of life. A huge deal-breaker for me is a lack of supportive environment which hinders personal growth, and all the other colleges couldn't offer me that quality of life where I could get the chance to improve myself. MUJ has that environment. Living here prepares a person to live anywhere else independently. Apart from academics, a good personality can also be inculcated here. Admission in MUJ can be taken through various steps, like on the basis of the board marks, or by writing the MET. The overall admission process is somewhat streamlined and hassle-free, although the academic section sometimes takes long to respond.

Faculty

3

The faculty is generally good and knowledgeable, but some faculty members tend to be a little rough. The faculty-to-student ratio is quite low and classrooms have easily 60-100 people in a single section. However, for every few students there's a mentor assigned who helps them out and gives personalised guidance.

The course is well structured and designed for students to learn the subject in detail and to know about topics in detail and make sure to understand things clearly before implementing them in real life. There are certain areas for improvement but they will keep get better. Timetable should be made such that students get break in between the classes so that they can be less exhausted throughout the day

Obviously there is a campussing process that gives the students the opportunity to get their desired job. You can also go off campus to get bigger opportunity, but it will be on your head only that means it's a risk. But the average placement provided by the university is 6 lakhs and the highest one is 72 lakhs per annum.
