Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is well prepared, really good. The teaching methods depend on the faculty. exams happen every 2 months. The difficulty level of the open-booked exams is high others are just normal exams. The course is as good as the B.Tech courses, sometimes even better than B.Tech. If you get B.Tech in a higher fees category I would suggest you take this course. For some unknown reasons, the fees of this course are very low compared to B.Tech but both have the same resources and placement opportunities. In the 2024 passed out students, the Mtech integrated Computer students have gotten better placements than Btech

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are offered to everyone in VIT from the first year. Last year students got internships from companies such as Dell, HP, Microsoft, LG, etc... with a stipend. The students other than the last year get internships from the start-ups that are in the college, these people don't get stipends.

Placement Experience

4.5

The campus placements are good as I have heard from the seniors. There were more than 12000 offers, the highest package was around 75lakhs. It all comes down to skills, if you have skills you will definitely land a higher package offer. There are three categories dream, super dream and normal offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees differ as per category, for our course(Integrated Mtech) the fee structure is divided into 3, 1st is 1lakh, 2nd is 1.6lakh and 3rd is 2lakh. I got in the 3rd category. The caution fees are included in the fees mentioned. The admission fee is about 50000 rupees, which must be paid in the first year. The college provides scholarships to students whose annual income do not exceed 1lakh rupees.

Campus Life

4

Two major festivals happen every year namely Gravitas (technical event) and Rivera (Non Technical event). The accessibility of books is very easy, most of the books are outdated but they are well maintained. There are many clubs and chapters in VIT nearly 170 clubs and chapters all run by students. The sports and extracurricular activities offered are really good, but you may need previous experience if you want to excel in any of the sports.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities are good, there are AC and non-ac rooms. The non-AC rooms are very hot during the summer. The mess quality is good, but the taste depends on which caters you get. You can change the caters after every month. The deluxe blocks have even more fees compared to normal blocks. The normal blocks have bunkers and the deluxe blocks have separate beds. The registration process for a hostel room for a fresher is very simple(works on a first come first serve), but after that, you will need cgpa to choose the room of your liking, or you should know a person with a high CGPA. This person can choose the room and their roommates.

Admission

I applied to the Shiv Nadar University, but I couldn't crack their entrance exam. The college admission process is simple. They conduct counseling based on your board marks. They have a specific calculation to determine the normalized board marks of a specific board. So you don't have to worry about that.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty-to-student ratio is meager, the students outnumber the faculties very much. Most of the faculties are friendly. There are 3 exams every exam every semester, CAT-1, CAT-2, and FAT. Both CAT exams hold fifteen percent of the weightage for the course each and the final assessment test(FAT) holds 40 percent of the weightage, The CAT-2 is an open-book exam remaining are closed books. The remaining weightage for the course is gained through internals.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.
