Course Curriculum Overview

3

In terms of curriculum ,i would say the fees caught my attention as they were pretty cheap for this course. As this is a degree course it's all equal from taking the course from any college. Another issue we faced was regarding the honors course. We were promised to be given an honors degree but they took it down on our 2nd year and didn't give a proper reason for it. The college isn't well equiped for much real world preperation.

Fees and Financial Aid

When i joined in garden city University, the initial course fees for my batch was two lakh forty two thousand three hundred. It's divided into six semesters which will be 42300rs per semester, which makes it 84600rs per year. Recently i heard that for upcoming batches the fees is one lakh per year.

Campus Life

2

My overall experience in college was not that great. The college has many divisions and department but they do not conduct any event or programs for the students to meet and socialize. The students come for attendence and there isn't much space to relax around. One thing i personally find weird is that there is a turf inside the college and it's paid for the students and it's the same for batminton court too. We can't get free access to that. the classrooms which were assigned to us were below average. There's fully air conditioned classes in campus but they give it only to engineering students or BCA department( as they pay more fees i guess). There is not encouragement for sports in this college. There is no team or clubs in this college.

Admission

The reason i selected for this college was because they responded to my emails first, secondly i was looking for Bsc psychology course and there isnt much colleges in india for that. So when i looked in banglore ,garden city university was providing this course and that too for pretty cheap rate. I did apply for christ and ramiah college also. I missed my interview for christ college and in ramiah college the seats were full.for garden city university the eligibility criteria for my batch was 70 percent in 12th board exams. The admission process of the college was straight forward, we can apply online and should pay a registration fees, then i came directly to college and took admission from college. There are no cut offs here. The admission process they keep it simple for convenience of parents

Faculty

3

The faculty in this college is decent or i would say average. But there are qualified faculties with good experience for other department, in psychology department we don't have even have a proper HOD. the faculty keeps on changing every year( i mean the techers leave the college every year). In the beginning the exam systems were like normal writing exam, but in 3rd semester they changed the entire system to computer typing.

Night Life

1

There is no night life in the campus. There is one girls hostel inside the campus so after 6pm no boys are allowed inside the college and boys are not allowed to inside the college on weekends also. That means we can't use the turf , basketball court or batminton court in college at that time. When i used to stay in hostel we had the timing till 10 pm after that they close the gates. The gym is not allowed on sundays and boys cannot go to gym in the morning as that is the time alloted for girls. Cafeterias are there till night but only girls have access to it. Library is averagely equipped . The place we hangout the most in our college is in the green house, which is a public sitting spot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
