Remarks

The college management was not that good specially talking about the administration. They were a typical govt. employee mentality people who hardly used to listen to students and you really had to raise your voice to get your work done.

Entrance Preview

Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central University by an act of Parliament. It holds its own entrance examination . On the scores based in the examination (The scores are kept secret) a merit list is generated .

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum and structure was very meticulously designed. Right from the basics till the intricacies, the course was a hard nut to crack. The paper pattern was difficult and it actually helped students to prepare accordingly with the standards of other competitive examinations that they wanted to give in near future.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college did use to provide internships during my graduation. You just needed to fill a form regarding the internship. The training and placement department used to check your academic records and will let you know about the suitable organization whom they can refer to. The stipend disbursement used to depend from organization to organization. As such no companies used to visit for internships. You yourself had to search them and get them approved from the Training and placement department.

Placement Experience

3

In our batch approximately 25 students out of 70 got placed. The average package that had been offered was around 4.5 lacs. The package depends on company to company and the maximum it went was 6 lacs. The placements were average at Jamia and if you were a serious and sincere student you can grab them. The eminent companies that visited our campus were Honda Siels, L&T Construction, Maruti Suzuki, TCS,INFOSYS etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Talking about fees, JAMIA is one of the cheapest colleges. On an average 8000 per year was the fees which is extremely low and this is one of the reason why many students preferred jamia to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes many scholarship schemes for minority students and meritorious students were offered. If you are good with academics then Jamia is the best place to study at. Many students got full fees concession as they used to get much more in scholarships than they actually spent in the college fees.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life at Jamia is cool. The gender ratio was extremely poor. On an average 1:10 girl is to boy ratio was there . The extracurricular activities were average, although competitions were used to organize by the IT and electronics department from time to time. Jamia offered a blend of cultures and religions. While 50% students were from minority community , the other 50% were mixture of other communities.

Alumni/Alumna

Not really, the senior interaction was not at all good. We hardly had any conversation with our seniors which actually lacked us a bit behind.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
