The main and only thing I dislike is that itsa women's College
It's a women's College that's why here is not that much exposure
It's a women's College that's why some people are so judgmental

Course Curriculum Overview

So the thing is .. my college comes under DELHI UNIVERSITY . That's why it follows the curriculum of Delhi University which is provided by the Delhi University itself . Sometimes it's pretty hectic but it's not that much.

Class Size: 64Course Fees: INR 21755 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 21755 INR fir the first year. My course is political science honours. It was the fee of my first year only. The fee may vary from department oto department. But for political science it was that only.

Campus Life

The campus life is good . Here are a lot of exposure. People come from different different places. We got to know them . SYMPHONY is our annual fest which held every year in FEBRUARY. And along with this we organise a lot of fun activities in our college

Admission

I got 642 marks in CUET . And the cut off was very high for the political science honours course. And I'm from general category that's why I got this college only. I wasn't expected much from this college because it's a off campus college. But now I'm super happy with it

Faculty

The faculty is so so so good . They are super helpful. They are super supportive. They always ready to helps in our everything. Even it's our exams or our assignments. They are super cool. They teach very nicely and deeply

Night Life

So basically my college is in KAROL BAGH, CENTRAL DELHI . The night life is very nice . College starts from 9 AM in morning and ends upto 5pm in evening depends on the classes. We have so much places to hangout. We have CP and many other things

Likes

i liked the campus its big looks grand along with a ground
The faculty and teachers are knowledgeable and great
Overall and on the surface the college is great with great faculty and excels in academics

Dislikes

As the infra is great but some aspects like the ground sporting facilities are nit very well maintained
There is a segregation in between mait and maims one is technology sector and other is management all events and everything takes place differently making it feel as if both are different colleges in one

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement in there last year and the placement rate is 65-75 percent with 3.5 lpa to 5.5 lpa average and 14-22 lpa maximum packagesome of the companies that visit are icici bank , hdfc bank and wirpo . My plans after the degree are to become a data analyst or go on for further studies in MBA

Kamala Nehru College: Where Opportunity awaits

Likes

I really liked the environment of the college as there was a diverse set of students coming from across the country.
The faculty was top notch and was very dedicated and knowledgeable. If we faced any issue they would come up to help us deal with it.
Also i liked the infrastructure of the college as they recently added a new building and have improved a lot in sports equipments and facilities.

Dislikes

The admin section of the college is very slow and it is a hassle to deal with them. Half a time they are either on a break or on lunch.
There is sometimes non availability of chairs in classrooms like there are approx 40 chairs in each classroom but if the strength of the class is more then we have to borrow it from the next classroom.
Also you will have to take up some additional course which sometimes feel unnecessary but its not only in this particular college but in all the colleges under University of Delhi.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

KMC in my words

Likes

I liked the environment and the crowd of the college, and also my professors. Like seriously they are so helpful and kind
Also what I like about this college is that it's liberal unlike other colleges of North campus
I love the ashoka lawn and the big ground in front of the gym

Dislikes

I hate the staff, especially the technical staff ( Ankita Jain ), I went to her with erp portal issue and she just didn't look after my issue properly and sent me away. It was totally unexpected. She must be removed from her position.
The canteen staff, I didn't like their behaviour
Some of the seniors are shit and not helpful

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it 9 out of 10. The reason is simple, whatever my professors teach and everything that is there in my syllabus is really helpful for my future. Not just that, they way lectures are delivered by the professors is just awesome

An idiot's guide around college

Likes

environment of my college is far better than all the other colleges I have been to, there is zero to none chances of there ever being something unsafe on campus
maintenance of my college is taken very seriously, in only my 1st month of attending college ii saw precautions being taken due to heavy flooding in the college campus
accessibility is one of the things in my college that is so serious and provided with such care that it feels weird when outside campus no such accessibility is not to be seen

Dislikes

there is little to no room for giving students relaxibility in situations of difficulty during talks of giving a leave or not

philosophy as va discipline covers mostlt all the subjects related to humanities, it'll widen your knowledge and you thinking abillity more than that of a oridinary student, the job market is quite difficult for this course

Is Delhi University Worth it ?

Likes

In my college I like my course, my friends and the societies
The crowd of the colleges is also very nice
The campus is peaceful interesting and I love the college

Dislikes

I do not like the infrastructure of the college it needs to be renovated
I also don't like the classes which start from 8:40 thats to early for us
I personally feel that the college portal does not work properly but that's okay

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

I like the campus as it is really big with canteens for students who don't bring food with them
Library access is what i love the most about the college as they have very peaceful environment also have a wide range of books.
Sports opportunities in here people who are actually interested in sports are provided with opportunities and skills it also have sports courts and playgrounds.

Dislikes

Timing of library it don't open on Saturday on which we have only 1-2 class with lot of gaps in between during which if a student want to study in library then its not possible.
Societies in colleges sometimes charges a lot of money in names of events and Society fund lack.
Groupism in classes due to family background and looks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Decent internship exposure with good opportunities

Likes

The crowd is quite good and competitive. Students are motivated, focused on academics, internships and skill development.
Teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. Most faculty members explain concepts clearly, encourage class participation and are approachable.
Syllabus is well-structured and is relevant to the industry reuqirements. It balances theoritical knowledge with practical exposure.

Dislikes

Size of the campus is relatively smaller to the main campus.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.

Honest review of ddu

Likes

The teaching faculty is really nice and polite. They usually help students even when u contact them after college hours.
The engagements and the quality of the social interactions in this college is also very good and very uplifting.
The quality of the infrastructure is very good compared to other colleges in du, considering its very new.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the thought of learning about the literature of the older times was pretty exciting to me while I was choosing the course. The curriculum however does prepares you if you want to continue ur academic journey in the English field.

A saga of my college experience.

Likes

The thing I like about my college that is Maitreyi College is its location in a very peaceful area.
The animal fest conducted by my college is by far the best thing that happens on my college. The management is very efficient which conducts the fest very smoothy

Dislikes

The thing I dislike is the strictness they have for the attendance of the students
The faculty of some subjects is not that good.

Placement Experience:

Placement drives take place in my college from time to time but the issue is these are beneficial only for the students pursuing subjects from commerce background as the company that come usually looked for students form busin perspective.

Likes

I am from BA program economy plus English with economy major I think in my college all the teachers are very good in explaining I think we have best teachers also clears are doubt very nicely we ask them extra questions and I think our relationship w
The society of our colleges is also nice I am also in a society wdc women development cell so far in the society we have learnt about feminism and making a place feel comfortable for everyone and many more things I feel so lucky to be the part of soc
Our college library is also nice and canteen is also nice we have basketball court also which is pretty beautiful but I like the library

Dislikes

We have app which tells us our time table when is our next class and stuff like that but in semester change and we have new classes if the shows us to classes in one time some glitches sometime goes on
And we also don't have any auditorium which I don't like because we should have an auditorium
And also our college don't have any hostel you know it they should provide hostels for student like us who came from another state

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think in my course the difficulty level is little bit high because as a non math we have to study lot of stuff around math but while selecting this course it is not required to have math compulsory if you didn't study math in 12th you also can take this course but I think who did not study math in class 12 they should not continue with this course because the course is all about math and statistics of like that and I think Delhi University should be proved this the courses overall good

A students perspective on jdmc

I choose Janki Devi Memorial College mainly because it is a Delhi University College and has a good academic environment. I had applied to a few other DU colleges as well but the cutoffs is some of first slightly higher so, I could not get my preferred course there. When I got admission in Janki Devi Memorial College, I found that the faculty, infrastructure and overall environment is good, so I decided to continue here instead of waiting for further rounds. In comparison to other college I considerd JDMC has a disciplined environment, supported teachers and regular academic activities. The crowd is decent and the college focuses well or academics along with society and extra curricular activities which also influenced my decision.The admission process was conducted through Delhi University procedure. Eligibility depends on completing class 12th and qualifying through the entrance process used by DU. After the after the results and cut off education list are released, students confirmed their seats by submitting documents and paying the fees online. Overall admission process is what all the competition and cut off can be high with me getting into top colleges difficult. Life a Janki

Admission process was through CUET UG exam. The selection was done through CSAS portal based on our preference list and marks in CUET exam. Compared to other colleges, Janki is pretty quiet and isolated from other du colleges, which is good for safety. It is evolving each year and for an off campus college it's amazing.
