Remarks

I have both good and bad experience in RVCE. The positive thing about the college is decency and dignity is very well maintained in campus. The knowledge drive is very powerful at RVCE. The negative thing is that education is imparted for scoring more marks rather than gaining more knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Highway Technology is one of the best branch to join in RVCE. The teaching depends on individual faculty. Some faculties are extremely good in their teaching. The subjects in this course are very advanced and closely related to practical applications. One can complete their masters with good knowledge and experience in this college as per my opinion.

Internships Opportunities

We have to do our internship in 3rd semester. Currently I'm studying in 2nd semester. After completion of second semester we have to search for internship for a period of 6months. Stipend depends on individual projects.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements and job opportunities are extremely good for engineering students. For post graduation students placements are good for computer science students. If it comes to Highway Technology placements are too less. But government job opportunities are more in this field.

College Events

4

8th Mile festival AMBAARI festival Concrete fair E Summit 2019 8th Mile is an amazing festival organised by the students of RVCE. It is one of the biggest fest where whole Bangalore will enjoy with lot much of fun and entertainment. AMBAARI is a Kannada festival conducted on account of Kannada Rajyotsava.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is expensive since it is a private college. We have to pay fee for everything for example parking. We have to pay extra fee like exam fee for annual exam hall ticket. I paid a fee around 120000 for one year only for college.

Fees and Financial Aid

College will provide monthly stipend from AICTE for GATE qualified students. They provide a stipend of Rs 12500. Apart from stipend they also provide fee concession scholarship from Karnataka government for PG CET students.

Campus Life

4.5

College provides a lot of extra curricular activities in the form of Clubs, debate, seminars etc. All the Laboratories (Labs) and Workshops are well-equipped with latest state-of-the-art equipment’s and materials.R.V College has a very good infrastructure facilities for sports. We have a cricket ground, a football field, basketball court, lawn tennis court, badminton court etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities and infrastructure are good. I'm also staying in girls hostel. But the problem is hostel is 6km away from college. We have to pay extra 25000 for college bus apart from hostel fee. Hostel fee is 98300. thank

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is good in RVCE. They provide support and sponsorship for so many activities conducted by college. Senior students are so helpful in guiding us. They provide information about events and rules and regulations of the college.

Exam Structure

Exam structure consists of 3 tests for 50 marks and 2 quizzes for 10marks. The average of 3 tests were taken for 50 marks and quiz marks are added for 20marks.30 marks is for assignment work. Totally 100 marks for test which is reduced to 50marks. And Semester End Exam is for 100 marks which is also reduced to 50marks. Both test and exam marks are added. If marks is greater than 90 then it is S grade. Between 80-90 is A grade. 70-80 is B grade.60-70 is C grade and 50-60 is D grade. Less than 50 is considered as fail.

Admission

I got admission to this college through PGCET 2018 exam which was conducted by KEA in offline mode across 12centres in Karnataka.Exam was conducted during 14th July 2018. The exam was for 100 marks which includes Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 consists of 50 questions of 1 mark and Part 2 consists of 25 questions of 2 marks of objective type. After the exams ranks will be alloted for individual based on their scores. Ranking upto 2000 is reserved for GATE qualified students. For PGCET students ranks are assigned from 2001. I scored 56 in the exam and got a ranking of 2245. After announcing ranking counseling was started where they checked all our documents. After completion of counselling option entry was started where one can select their college with priority. Based on ranking seats were alloted. I got seat in RVCE in first round itself and I paid the fees prescribed by the KEA and got admission to the College with KEA admission order. In college I paid college fee and along with that they told me to pay extra 20000 and I paid that fee also.

Faculty

3

For PG section in highway technology there are only 3 faculties. All lecturers have good experience and knowledge about the subject. Lecturers are friendly and good at teaching. They are always ready for discussion with students about subjects and clearing doubts.

Placement Experience:

IIIT Banglore is well-known for its placement opportunities. The college not only has high educational standards but also offers competitive placement packages. Every year, the college retains a 100% placement record, with the highest selection package reaching up to 46 LPA and the median wage package being around 19 LPA, which are very good packages in contrast to many engineering colleges of such stature. Members of the college placement panel are also highly professional and have extensive industrial experience.
