Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is fine because our curriculum is similar to IIT's. First semester is full of common courses and the core courses commences from 2nd semester.Mid sem exam will be of 1.5 hrs and end sem exam will be of 2.5 hrs.

Internships Opportunities

There will a lot of internships and workshops,Speaker will come from prominent companies form USA,UK,Singapore will come to the campus and tell the opprtunities available in thier company.Speakers from Intel,3M companies came for workshops.

Placement Experience

Currently the placements are ok but most of the students go for higher education and get placed.Students are eligible for placments from 3rd year. some companies like Bharat Petroleum,Dow the students are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For B.Tech the fees slab is based on the AEEE(Entrance exam of Amrita) and JEE percentile.The slab varies for courses.For Chemical engineering 1st slab-1,00,000 rs 2nd slab-1,65,000 rs 3rd slab-2,00,000 rs non scholarship <2,50,000 rs Hostel fees-1,00,000 rs

Campus Life

There are a lot of clubs in Amrita like for music,dance ,art etc.There is a fest called ANOKHA which is the biggest fest in Amrita which will be held on october.In library the are a lot of books and jounals and e journals.There will be a smart board and speakers to reach all students.The benches have electric plug points.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are neat and clean. There will be four members in one room. Four seperate wooden beds, seperate tables and night lamps and wooden cupboards will be provided.The food here in mess is vegetarian and mostly of rice sambar,rasam and curd.Sundays biriyani will be served.Hostel fees is less compared to other collages.

Admission

Comparing to other colleges Amrita gives importance to Chemical Engineering in terms of internships and placements and even in core courses as in other colleges the core courses will start from second year.

Faculty

Faculties are world class that most of the staffs completed their M.Tech and Ph.d in IIT's,NIT's and abroad universities.All the staffs will clear students doubt and help in thier project by giving ideas.The course has common engineering course for 1st and 2nd sem and the core courses starts from 2nd sem.There will be mid sem exam and end sem exam.Internal(mid sem+ projects+assigments) 60% and end sem 40%.

Night Life

Nightlife will be extrodinary as the college located near to the western Ghats there will be always cool breeze and there will be huge number of trees a perfect environment for a walk.Gym has mid advanced facilities.There will benches near the ground to relax.hostel will be close by 9.00pm for 1st years.The best place for hangout is academic block 1.

At 8th semester the students can become eligible for campus placement and the companies visited more oftens are win etc the highest packages about 25 LP and average packers about 2.5 lpa percentage of students getting placement is above 80 percentage.
