Remarks

College lyf in gargi is fun and with good academics. The college has a good and strict management system. The safety of the students is also taken good care of with a PCR always there at the college gate. It's a college I would suggest every girl come and enjoy. It has a perfect mixture of study and fun. The teachers and seniours are so helpful. Its just like my second home. i will always be a gargian at heart. It has taught me a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I opted for was the bsc life science which is an interdisciplinary scientific course, which makes you to have a scientific point of view. The CBCS system of evaluation has designed the syllabus in a manner to let the student choose his/her desired field of specialization within Science. This course includes Botany, zoology and chemistry as the core subjects. Apart from these their is and extra course english , enviromental science, analytical chemistry ,medical diagnostics, ayurveda etc as secondary subject which has equal importance and which helps a student to learn sonething extra. For future studies we can opt for mba ,msc bot chem zoo biotech microbio etc. So i highly suggest this course as it opens many doors for a student for higher studies.

Placement Experience

4

The Placement Cell is also responsible for job placements of the students. Each student has to register with the Cell, to be able to sit for placement drives. The college hosts most of the big companies in the job sector including KPMG, EY, Deloitte, FIS, amongst others. Various start-ups and small-level companies also come up with amazing learning opportunities for the students. The average salary packages range from 2.5-6 lac per annum and can go up to 7-8lac p.a.

College Events

5

Gargi college celebrates each festival and event with immense enthusiasm and participation by all. The college has more than 20 academic and performing societies including western dance society, singing, street play society etc, which manages all the events, along with the College Union. Each society and department have an annual fest of its own. The college also has its annual three-day fest named Reverie which hosts celebrities from various fields. In the Diwali season, it also hosts a Diwali Mela, which is popular in Delhi for its fun, delicacies, and shopping. Along with the fests, there are festival celebrations of all major Indian festivals, with immense enthusiasm of the students as well as teachers. Many Bollywood celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Hrithik Roshan have also come to our college for their movie promotions. Hence, the college gives a lot of non-academic exposure to its students along with education, which is necessary for personality development.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is immensely feasible for a student from any background. The average fees for many courses range from 8k-12k per year. Bsc life science has 10,500/- as its annual fees. Along with affordable fees, the college also provides financial assistance to students belonging to economically weaker sections. Many student welfare funds and scholarships are also provided to the students every year. The student just has to fill the form with their income certificate. Also at such a small amount of fees, no basic facilities is denied to the students

Fees and Financial Aid

I have availed scholarship at gargi which comes every year and i have availed it every year. The scholarship is under the name Students welfare funds which provides the students with 5-9k per year. The student just has to fill the form and attach their income certificate and submit it. Also, there are partial as well as full scholarships for students who secure good academic positions at the college and university levels.

Campus Life

4.5

Many extracurricular activities are performed in gargi like digferent qiizes, outdoor and indoor sports, parade, public outreach programmes, research work, rangoli making, dance competition , singing , many games, cricket ,basketball etc.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I would rate the college infrasturcture on 9/10. being a government college and at such a basic fees the college infrastructure and facilities provided is really appreciative. The campus life is very fun and fulfilling. Being an all-girls college, it provides a free and open environment for the students.Their is no ragging in college and their is healthy relationship between all the seniours and juniours. The extra-curricular activities take place through all the performing, sports and academic societies. The science and commerce blocks have labs assisted with well-equipped machines and computers. The college ground is capable of hosting all the sports games and many inter and intra college tournaments take place regularly. The college has a library of its own with books of every subject and a quiet air conditioned room for students to study.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has vast alumni in all fields like Urvashi Rautela, Huma Qureshi and Sanya Malhotra in Bollywood. One friend of mine won gold medal in asian games. Many students have also brought laurels for the country in international sports events. The alumni are extremely helpful and approachable.

Exam Structure

The exam structure follows the Semester-system. It involves the CBCS system of evaluation. The internals is conducted by the department itself which has 25 marks. The teachers mark a student for class tests, home assignment, presentations and research out of 20 and the rest 5 marks are for attendance. The externals are conducted by the university of 25 marks which is managed by the college itself. The combined result of both is also published by the university in a month after the exams. Theory exams are conducted of 75 marks for 3 hours.

Admission

I got admission through merit. I got 94 % in +2. Delhi university first cutoff list came. and I tallied with my +2 marks. I went to the college on prescribed date with all my documents. And i got admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
