College Events

Ya events this is the point where we can talk with a joy. We celebrate every occasion like women's day, fresher, farewell, annual celebrations everything. My college management gave prior importance to culturals. Ya we also conducted a technical fest once in all my four years college life that to with the help of my faculty. Our management is not ready to spend a rupee. So we collected money and organised well. Few students came.

Alumni/Alumna

Nothing like that. They created a portal neither it works nor they maintain it. No one is interested about that college after leaving. There is no such alumini conducted by my college. They are careless. They even missed my application form which I gave them for my applying my provisional. I submitted 3times. This is the situation there.

Internships Opportunities

For us there was nothing like internship or stipend. We had to do a project as part of our curriculum. We ( my team ) did it outside the college in a firm. About the project experience, it was really good, learning. Generally the we get to see 2 categories of students, who do their project work genuinely. leverage their potential and learned knowledge in all 3.5 years. If there have not learnt with much concentration, they cope by the virtue of project work. This actually helps them in down their line in career ( not the project work [sometimes yes], but the attitude and approach, planning, hard work ). If there is a team, then good team coordination and management also plays a role, category # 2, where students buy their project and somehow throw it on the college's face and complete their project part. ( I am not sure if such thing is still prevailing ).

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and helpful in your career if you pursue your career in the same stream / technology. All subjects are good though few seems irrelevant for your branch and line of career. Choosing electives comes in final year. There are 2 ways. 1) Ideally you can choose your own elective and pursue that as per your interest. But practically, sometimes you don't have choice but the whole class is asked to choose same elective ( majority wins ), OR only 1 subject of elective is taught as per the professor availability. If you are very particular about any subject in elective as per your market analysis OR career planning then you have to convince your HOD and be a special & one man army.

Campus Life

Speaking about gender ratio it was 30 to 3 in metallurgy as expected in core branches. There were lot of parties between junior's and senior's to increase interaction between them. Lot of cultural societies like press club, dramatics club, music club, robotics club etc. Lot of sports facilities like indoor badminton court. Opportunities to play with nearby colleges.

College Events

We have PECFEST whose annual budeget is around 40 lakhs which is always one of the dominating fest in north india after IIT delhi. Participation of around 50K students is observed every year during PEC fest. Tech fest is also planned every year with participation from near by colleges and schools with attractive prizes for teams performing well in competitions.

Internships Opportunities

My experience in particular was very good. The companies that come for placement, also tend to take a few students for internship programs. And the good performing students also get pre-placement offers. The stipend offered matches the best standards followed in the industry. Some companies even put you on a regular scale for the internship period. I went to Barclays Capital, Singapore for my internship.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is the best you would find in India. In addition to the core courses, there is a basket of departmental electives, out of which one has to choose one sub-stream, i.e., communications/VLSI/control/power. And you need to do three electives of your choice in the selected sub-stream. You also get to choose 5-6 courses from other departments as open electives.
