Boards 75% criteria
What are the subjects required for 75% criteria for boards? Is pcm + english + optional subject compulsory or we can choose our best 5 subjects?(excluding p/c/m) the sources online are confusing as well. Has anyone taken admission in NIT/IIIT/IIT with his preference of subjects for 75% criteria?

    Pcm+English+optional subject is the criteria

Is Shiv Nadar University worth it for a 30 Lakh loan? I can't afford to make a mistake. Need brutally honest advice.
Hey everyone, I'm a student currently in 12th (passing out in 2025) and I really need some honest guidance from seniors, working professionals, or anyone who's been through this path. My Situation: I'm currently in 12th class, and I'm expecting 80%+ marks I did not give JEE, and don't plan to I want to pursue BTech in CSE / AI / Data Science I come from a middle-class family, and my father cannot afford the fees I will need to take a 30 Lakh education loan (including tuition, hostel, etc.) I am 100% committed to working hard DSA, development, open-source, hackathons, internships whatever it takes to land a good job My Goal: Get placed with a 15 - 20 LPA+ package by the end of 4 years. I dont care about college fests or chill life. I just want the right environment and support where my hard work can pay off. The Option I'm Considering: Shiv Nadar University (SNU) Here's what I know so far. Pros: Excellent infrastructure & research-oriented faculty Good academic vibe (not too chill, not too toxic) Top students get good placements (15-25 LPA in some cases) Scholarships are possible if your marks are decent Cons: Average package is around 7 LPA Only a small % of students reach high packages 30 Lakh loan is a huge risk unless I hit the top My Questions: 1. Is SNU really worth a 30 Lakh loan if I give it my 100%. Are there any better private colleges (non-JEE) with stronger ROI? Should I consider dropping a year to give JEE / UGEE (IIIT-H) / other exams? 4. Has anyone actually made it big from SNU or similar colleges? Why This Matters: This is not just about me. My family's future depends on this decision. I can't afford to make a mistake. I'm not afraid of hard work I'm afraid of putting my all into the wrong place. Please drop any personal experiences, guidance, even harsh truths everything helps. Thanks a lot in advance! myquals

Dont think its a good startegy to select a college based of placent package after 4 years and that too when only few students hit what you are targetting. Industry chanegs every year

Help me choose a college and course with priorities for acads, extracurriculars, and lax discipline
myquals: 12th PCM+CS 97% aggregate JEE Main: 45k (97.04%) JEE Adv: 27k BITSAT: 290/390 SAT: 1550 DASA/CIWG applicable I got 4y B.Tech CSE (gross course fee: 48L) in the second iteration of IIITH DASA from 5y B.Tech CSE + MSc Computational Natural Sciences. I was aiming for BITS-H Mathematics and Computing but since cutoffs last year were 293 I'm not confident. I have another option in the BITS-G Electronics and Computer Engineering with possibility of Mathematics as minor. I have also received advice that M.Sc Mathematics with CS may be a good option. I also have BEng Hons CS at University of Edinburgh but I am less inclined due to high cost (2Cr aggregate) and the poor job market as well as being so far away. My priorities in my education are 1. Good integration of Maths and CS 2. Campus freedom (minimal curfews, long hair and beards, kettles and space coolers) 3. Electives and extracurriculars (competitive mathematics and programming, swimming, debate, coding culture, etc.) One of my problems is that I have already paid first semester fees for IIITH (about 6L). If I was to get a refund on 1st, 15th, or 19th July, I would get 4.5L, 3L, and 60k back respectively. I would only get 1st iteration results on the 14th, as per the tentative date. In reality I expect a delay to occur and hence I would lose 3L before knowing the results of the 1st iteration. In all other cases, cost is not an issue. Thank you for your time.

What should I do?
So I am a jee 2027 aspirant, few weeks ago I was very unstable in my prep but now , i would not say my prep is excellent but its going good or meh. My uncle (he's really good, dont frame his as those typical uncles, he always gives reasonable advices, and i have been living with him for around 10 years) has been telling me repeatedly from past weeks to quit jee as the jobs are not much secure for engineers anymore due to AI,etc which i agree with , and my parents are saying same thing now. They are not pressurising me but advising me , also my family ig would not be able to pay fees of iiit/nit etc as even if they pay for me, I have a sibling too so he might get in trouble when he needs fees for any institutes, Also I belong to a religious minority of india(muslim from kashmir), so I am in little danger even after the job too as we are beaten up everywhere , and most engineers from rural areas get jobs in other states Now I am thinking and considering to leave jee.,and probably do neet , or something else ,but I also do not want to leave jee, now if I speak about my passion , i really didn't like engineering but just some hefty money attracted to me but helping people medically would make me feel better:) , is this the right decision? Or not?

Bro just follow your passion whether NEET/JEE .If you fear about AI ,in MBBS also you get good salary only after specializations and if you think of government doctor job less seats and more competition.Every field has both black and white areas but if you understand the competition and work hard to be in top you can succeed everything. If you feel helping people medically you found your passion .join NEET.

People who are not studying from IIT/NIT.... does it still hurts somewhere deep knowing that you can never be an IITian.
We all wanted to be IITian... no matter what we say now that skills matter, NIT/IIT does make little difference, you have to work hard, you can succeed in life later...etc, etc... But that dream which we saw, it still hurts right? I don't know about you guys....but it will forever hurt me...like whenever someone will talk about IITs and all it will still hold same pain, even if I will do good later in life. It was my childhood dream.

Reviews on MnC Branch
Getting MNC in NSUT, might get it in DTU as well if I get lucky enough. Couldn't find much information regarding it on internet as it is a relatively newer branch. So had few questions:- 1. My maths is the weakest among the trio. I actually suck at integral calculus at jee level. Should I avoid it? 2. How much theory part would be of maths in overall syllabus? Will I be able to do "computation" as well? 3. Will it be worth it to take it over ECE? 4. Should I consider IIIT CS/IT in place of this as well? I am more interested in software placements. But I haven't explored core as well so idk.

Go through the syllabus once. If u feel like you will be interested in the topics, go for the course.
