University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Lots of seminars. Lots of sports like cricket, football chair, E sports and so many things we are getting in those few days of our semester one. I am thankful for this I love to make (Movies). There is opportunity to make short film in the social event of our college. That is a mini huge chance for me.

This is a very good course. I can learn many things from this course. Our course includes programming languages is learn about coding. All our professors are really great. They help us in various way to improve ourself.

The Department of Statistics in Asutosh College is one of the oldest in calcutta and also this college is very well known for the well versed curriculum of Statistics and its faculty members. 5-6 colleges in Calcutta provide Statistics as a subject and this college is one of them. They conduct seminars on different topics for our exposure and also provide us real world aspects of studying statistics.

It's very good to be honest I have always wanted to study this subject statistics and I am loveing it Professors are help ful ,, students are friendly Everything for a study environment is present no doubt about it

This course was very good & it will be more good in future. now the nep system brings some extra features like aiml , c++, python. The Calcutta University take exam after 6 months.it has total 8 semester

My goal is to do Msc in data science, because of the market boom. After doing Bsc Stat. from Asutosh College, it will really help me to accomplish my goals. The theory written and expecially oractical exams,freqauntly organizing seminars are really helping us to prepare ourselves for real world

Not many companies came but placement drive is held every year. I believe the placement committe of the colleges can do better by inviting more companies with diverse job roles. If one doesn't get placed from campus they can apply from various job portals or broaden and increase their skill set by doing industry specific courses. Those students who have completed their graduation can opt for masters and can also pursue for further higher education if they want. Nowadays, the opportunities of earning and learning are endless.

The faculty and results were the reasons for making the course appear attractive to me. Many students here lands up at IITs and ISI after clearing their respective exams like IIT Jam and M.Stat. The faculty here is great and have deep knowledge and understanding in their subjects however you might face difficulty in coping up at few moments if you are a non-bengali. Also, some teachers have a high pace of teaching so you might find it difficult to catch things in an instance. Also, some handful of teachers who teach us minor subjects use Bengali throughout. There are practical, mid-semester, and semester exams which take place every semester which is of around 6 months.

The course is very educative. There are real life experiences given to the students through field assignments, group projects, frequent tests. The professors are also very effective in their jobs. There are even smart board learnings..

First of all our campus placements are quite good. Alot of big companies do visit our college for placements, like for a B.Com Hons graduate who's a fresher they get Rs. 200000 per annum( highest received). And if one does not feel like going with the college placements, there will be plenty of jobs waiting for you if you have done your course diligently. Apart from college one should also go and learn Tally and Excel , it will be very helpful for getting jobs.
