Application Process of Columbia University                                                                                  

Pre-requisites

  • Documents required for the international students:
    • A Certificate of Eligibility
    • A copy of the admission letter/email
    • The identification page of the passport
    • Financial Certification Form
    • Evidence of Financial Support
    • Passport identification page of each dependent, if applicable
    • A copy of the I-94 arrival record if the applicant is currently in the USA
  • International applicants whose first language is not English need to submit the scores of either IELTS or TOEFL and the minimum scores accepted are:
    • IELTS: 7.0 or higher
    • TOEFL (Internet-based): 100
    • TOEFL (paper-based): 600

Admission Process

The application process contains the following steps:

  • Paying the non-returnable processing fee of $100 via a valid credit card
  • Logging in to Compass using either a PID (the 9-digit number beginning with “C” received from the admissions office or department) or a UNI (assigned by the respective schools and consists of the applicant’s initials and a number)
  • Complete applications will be processed by the university and the applicants will be contacted if any further information is required
