The University of South Florida has retired its MS in AI and Business Analytics from Fall 2026. The Muma College of Business will replace the degree with two GenAI-native majors under a single MS in AI in Business. Indian applicants targeting analytics roles must now pick between Digital Transformation (online) and Enterprise Integration (in-person). USF confirms the older 33-credit programme is being sunset entirely.
- Two majors, one degree: Digital Transformation is a 100% online track for working professionals, while Enterprise Integration is a 12-16 month in-person Tampa track for early-career applicants.
- Both majors carry 30 credits across 10 courses, three credits lighter than the 33-credit legacy programme, with curriculum rebuilt around agentic AI, RAG pipelines and AI governance.
- International tuition works out to $30,906 (₹29.5 lakh) for Enterprise Integration and $17,250 (₹16.4 lakh) for the online Digital Transformation major, per USF’s own credit-hour rates.
The revamp lands as US employers pivot from classical analytics stacks to GenAI-first workflows. USF is one of the first mid-tier US B-schools to formally sunset a legacy analytics master’s for a GenAI-native replacement, and the split-majors design borrows from executive education.
Figures use the live rate of ₹95.66 per USD (August 2026).

What USF Retired and What Replaced It
The Muma College of Business ran the MS in AI and Business Analytics as a 33-credit, on-campus, one-year programme. USF now states on its official landing page: "The above majors replace the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Analytics."
The new umbrella degree is the MS in AI in Business, with the two majors sharing a common core built around applied machine learning, deep learning, GenAI data pipelines, retrieval augmented generation, agentic AI, and AI governance, security and privacy.
Important Distinction: These are two separate majors, not two delivery modes of the same course. The online Digital Transformation major targets an executive audience and covers AI strategy and change management. The in-person Enterprise Integration major is a technical build-track for people who will code, deploy and maintain AI systems.

Digital Transformation vs Enterprise Integration: Which One Fits
| Feature | Digital Transformation | Enterprise Integration |
|---|---|---|
| Format | 100% online | In-person, Tampa campus |
| Target reader | Working professionals with 3+ years experience | Recent graduates and early-career applicants |
| Length | Self-paced | 12-16 months full-time |
| Credits | 30 (10 courses) | 30 (10 courses) |
| Focus | Enterprise AI strategy, governance, org change | Building and deploying AI systems |
| Sample roles | AI Strategy Lead, Transformation Manager | AI Analyst, GenAI Agent Architect, AI Platform Architect |
For Indian applicants on an F-1 visa, only the in-person Enterprise Integration major keeps the STEM-eligible full-time student status the visa requires. Fully online US degrees do not qualify for F-1 sponsorship, so the Digital Transformation major suits Indian professionals staying in India or already on a US work visa.
What it means for Indian Students: If your goal is US work experience through OPT, the Enterprise Integration track is the only option. The Digital Transformation online major is a credential play, not a US-immigration route.
Fees, Tuition and Total Cost for Indian Students
USF publishes the credit-hour rates on its programme page, and the 30-credit load fixes the sticker cost.
| Component | Enterprise Integration (International) | Digital Transformation |
|---|---|---|
| Per credit hour | $1,030.20 | $575.00 |
| Total tuition (30 credits) | $30,906 (₹29.5 lakh) | $17,250 (₹16.4 lakh) |
| Estimated housing (12 months) | $12,000 (₹11.4 lakh) | Not applicable |
| Fees and insurance | $2,000 (₹1.9 lakh) | Course-linked only |
The all-in cost for the in-person track works out near ₹42 lakh, roughly in line with the older MS AI and Business Analytics programme, which USF pegged at about $30,000 in tuition.

How Do Indian Students Apply for Fall 2026?
USF has opened an expedited admission process for Fall 2026 through the Muma College. The programme page does not publish a hard application deadline, and the college is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Applicants have to submit a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, a resume, transcripts, and an English proficiency score. Duolingo, IELTS and TOEFL are all accepted, though the exact score cut-offs are not published on the new programme page. The GRE and GMAT policies for the two new majors have not been released yet.
Career Paths After a GenAI-Native Master’s
The Enterprise Integration major names five graduate roles on its official page: AI Analyst, RAG Integration Specialist, AI Engineer, Machine Learning Architect and Data Pipeline Architect. The Digital Transformation major points at strategy and governance titles rather than build roles.
Both majors qualify as STEM-designated at the parent university level, which keeps the 36-month STEM OPT extension open for Enterprise Integration graduates on F-1 status. That gives Indian graduates a three-year post-study work window in the US before an H-1B lottery entry becomes essential.
Indian applicants who currently hold offers for the legacy MS in AI and Business Analytics should confirm in writing with the Muma admissions office which of the two new majors they are being transferred into. The offer letters, I-20 code and STEM eligibility all change with the switch.
USF’s shift signals where mid-tier US business schools are heading, with GenAI moving from an elective add-on to the spine of the curriculum. Indian applicants who want a US analytics master’s from Fall 2026 no longer have the old USF option on the table. The choice is now between the $30,906 in-person Enterprise Integration major and the $17,250 online Digital Transformation major, and the F-1 route only travels through the first.
Action Plan for Fall 2026 Applicants
- Email muma-msaib@usf.edu this week to lock the major you want and request the current application checklist.
- Book your IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo slot immediately; USF accepts all three.
- Line up two academic or professional recommenders and share a fresh resume with them.
- Draft a statement of purpose that names GenAI, RAG or agentic AI work you have already touched.
- If aiming for Enterprise Integration, budget ₹42 lakh all-in and start the education loan process.
Next Milestone for Fall 2026 Applicants: USF Muma is expected to publish firm application deadlines, GRE/GMAT policy and international scholarship details on the MS in AI in Business page ahead of the Fall 2026 semester start in August 2026. Track the official programme page and confirm your major assignment before I-20 issuance.
