AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018- Age, Qualification, Reservation

AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018 has been released by the conducting body, JNTU Kakinada. Candidates satisfying the set age, nationality, domicile, qualification standards, can fill the application form. The registration window for this year closed on March 29. Successfully registered candidates will appear for AP EAMCET 2018 between April 22-26 for all courses viz. 

  • Engineering, Bio-Technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B. Tech (Agr. Engineering), B. Tech (Food Science and Technology)
  • B.Sc (Ag), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.V.Sc and A.H/B.F.Sc
  • B. Pharmacy, Pharma.D

2. To apply, candidates should belong to the state of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. Candidates should satisfy local/ non-local status requirements as laid down in the Telangana or Andhra Pradesh, Educational Institutions. Read about  Local/ Non-Local Status

AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018 for Engineering

Eligibility standards for engineering exam are different from agriculture exam. Engineering exam will be conducted during April 22 to April 25, 2018. The time slot for the exam is between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM at the online test centers only. The eligibility for the exam is as follows:

On the basis Nationality

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • He should be an Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
  • Candidate should belong to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana state. The candidates should satisfy Local/Non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana.

On the basis of Age Limit

Eligibility Criteria for age is different for all the engineering courses. 

  • Candidates should have completed 16 years of age, as on December 31 of the year of admission.
  • There is no upper age limit.

For Pharma.D, B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering)

  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.
  • The upper age limit for the applicants belonging to General Category must be 22 years, while for SC/ST category, they must be 25 years of age as on December 31 of the admission year.

On the basis of Academic Qualification

Candidates must satisfy the following academic requirement to be eligible for the Common Entrance Test:

  • Applicants must have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional.
  • Candidates qualifying in vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education and Technology are also eligible to apply for the exam.
  • The vocational courses must be conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. Along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidates enrolled during the academic year 2001 onwards, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidates who have qualified the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering are also eligible to apply for the common entrance test.
  • The diploma examination must be conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidates qualifying in any other examination recognized as equivalent to the diploma examination by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana are eligible.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the subjects mentioned above taken together in the qualifying examination.
  • Applicants belonging to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste must secure at least 40% in the subjects specified taken together in the qualifying examination.

AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018 for Pharm.D

For Pharma.D course candidate should satisfy the following standards-

  • A candidate should have passed or appeared in the final year of Intermediate examination with 10+2 pattern having Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as optional subjects or other vocational courses. OR
  • If a candidate has passed or appeared in the final year of Diploma examination in Pharmacy conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana or any equivalent examination recognized by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidate should obtain at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belongs to reserved category) in the subjects specified taken together in the qualifying examination.  
  • The candidates should have a minimum age of at least 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission to the above course

Qualifying marks for Pharm-D Course

For AP EAMCET 2018, the prescribed qualifying percentage of marks considered for ranking is 25% of the maximum marks. There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. However, the admission for them is limited to seats reserved for such categories.

Local and non-local Residents candidate relaxation

In relation to a local area (AU/OU/SVU), candidates will be considered as local candidate if they have:

  • Studied in educational institution(s) in such local area for no less than four consecutive academic years in which they have appeared or first appeared in the qualifying examination
  • During the whole four consecutive academic years in which they have appeared or first appeared in the qualifying examination, they haven’t studied in any educational institutions but have resided in such local area for no less than four years from the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination, appeared or first appeared.

The candidates, who do not fall under local candidates category, have to meet the following criteria for being considered as a local candidate:

  • One should have studied in an educational institution in the state for no less than seven consecutive academic years till the academic year of appearing or first appearing of the candidates in the relevant qualifying examination to be considered as local candidates in relation to: Local area where they studied for the maximum period out of seven years.
  • In case candidates haven’t studied in the educational institutions in any local area during the seven consecutive academic years till the academic year of appearing or first appearing of the candidates in the relevant qualifying examination but they have resided for whole seven years in the state are regarded as a local candidate in relation to: Local area where they resided for the maximum period out of seven years OR If such period is equal in two or more local areas is equal, then the area where they last resided in will be considered

AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018 for Agriculture

JNTU Kakinada has scheduled AP EAMCET 2018 on April 25 to April 26, 2018. Candidates satisfying the following requirements are eligible to appear for AP EAMCET:

On the basis of Nationality

  • Candidates should be of Indian Nationality OR 
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
  • Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh / Telangana.
  • The candidates should satisfy Local/NonLocal status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh / Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

On the basis of Academic Qualification

  • For B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Hort) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FS&T) courses: Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana, with any two / three of the subjects indicated against each course noted below:

AP EAMCET 2018 Reservation of Seats

Certain percentage of seats in the participating colleges of AP EAMCET are reserved for the candidates of the underprivileged section. These include SC, ST, PWD and OBC. The relaxation provided to them is based on government norms. 

For AP EAMCET 2018, no official data for seat reservation has been released. However, based on previous years, we have curated the below details. We will update AP EAMCET Reservation details once the official notification for the same is out.

The other reservations provided to the candidates of different sections as per the Seat Reservation of AP EAMCET 2016 are as mentioned below:

  1. Active participants of NCC- Eligible to get 1% seat reservation 
  2. Sports quota under games category- Eligible to get 0.5% seat reservation 
  3. Female candidates from any of the category- Eligible to get 33% seat reservation 

NOTE:Applicants must notice that the reservation norms will not be applicable if the candidates are selected on the basis of the merit and if the total female candidates are lesser, then their reservation will be passed on to the male applicants of the same category.
