GUJCET 2019 Result and Counselling

Gujarat Common Entrance Test is also known as GUJCET is conducted every year for providing admission in numerous courses in the field of Medical/ Engineering/ Pharmacy. GUJCET Results announced after the completion of GUJCET 2019 scheduled for April 23. Applicants can check their result by using login credential on the official website.

GUJCET 2019 Answer Key

Answer key for Gujarat Common Entrance Test is declared within a week of conduct of the entrance examination.

  • The exam conducting body, GSHSB releases the answer key.
  • Official GUJCET answer key is released in the month of May.
  • Though, the answer key is provisionally, it is almost accurate.
  • Candidates should match and calculate their scores according to the answer key.
  • Separate answer keys are released for separate courses i.e. Engineering and Medical.
  • Different sets of answer keys are also there for different sets of question papers.

How to check GUJCET 2019 Result?

GUJCET result is announced by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board, also known as GSHSB. It is generally announced in the month of June. A merit list of the qualifying students is prepared. Candidates can check their GUJCET 2019 result on the official website- once it has been declared.

The steps involving the result checking are given below:

  • Candidates first need to go to the board’s official website.
  • Click on the link about GUJCET 2019 results.
  • There are two links available- one for GUJCET engineering stream, other for GUJCET medical results.
  • The link will be in the new notifications area in blue font colour.
  • It redirects you to the log in page.
  • Enter the enrolment number, date of birth and other necessary information.
  • Click on the submit button.
  • Your scorecard along with rank written on it is displayed on your screen.
  • Take a print out for admission process.
  • You can also save it for future reference.

GUJCET merit list contains all the qualifying students’ names. The shortlisted candidates are called for further steps of admission. The merit list is made on the data of normalized scores and the number of vacant seats. ACPC prepares the merit list of GUJCET 2019. Students can check their rank in the merit list online. Name wise merit list is not available. Individual rank and score can be checked.

Once you log in, you will see your scorecard on the screen.

The following details are mentioned on the score card:

  • Mother’s name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Passport size photo uploaded at the time of registration
  • Signature of the candidate
  • Category (if any)
  • Qualifying Status
  • Marks obtained
  • Overall State Rank
  • Category Rank in state (if any)

Check you details on the card carefully. In case of any discrepancy, contact the board immediately.

Normalization of Marks

In GUJCET, merit list is made based on both the candidate’s marks in Senior Secodary exam and in the GUJCET exam. Sixty percent weightage is given to 10+2 (Higher Secondary) marks and forty percent weightage is of the marks obtained in GUJCET examination.

Normalization is fair grading practice. The scores are normalized because of different factors- different sets have different difficulty etc. The final score is a good measure to find the candidate’s overall capability.

The formula used in GUJCET exam is:
0.60*Class XII marks + 0.40*GUJCET 2019 Marks = Final Score of the Aspirant

Based upon the final score, candidates are shortlisted and the merit list is prepared.

GUJCET 2019 Cut off

The cut off of GUJCET will be released by the official authority that is ACPC. The general cut off is published by ACPC along with the course wise and institute wise cut off. The opening and closing ranks of institutes will be present in GUJCET 2019 cut off.

Several factors affect the cut off marks each year. While preparing the cut off, the admission committee will consider the following factors related to GUJCET 2019:

  • Difficulty level of the examination.
  • Number of questions asked in the test.
  • Total number of candidates appeared.
  • Previous Years’ Cut offs.
  • Number of seats in the Institutes.
  • Number of seats in particular courses.

GUJCET 2019 Counselling Process

To take part in GUJCET 2019 Counselling process, candidates have to fill the application form of GUJCET 2019 counselling correctly and submit all required documents in the help centres.

  • The GUJCET Counselling begins in June every year.
  • Candidates will be nominated on the basis of the merit rank.
  • After the GUJCET 2019 counselling, candidates have to pay the tuition fee and will be allocated seats as per the GUJCET 2019 Seat Allotment list.
  • JEE Mains qualified students can also take part in the GUJCET 2019 Counselling.
  • Many institutes offer admission to the candidates on the basis JEE Mains score.
