JKCET 2020 Eligibility, Age Limit and Educational Qualification

    The online application process for JKCET 2020 will commence in the first week of February 2020. Before filling the application form, candidates must ensure whether they are eligible for the exam or not. JKCET 2020 will be conducted in offline mode on April 26, 2020. 

    • Candidates applying for JKCET 2020 should have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50%.

    • Such candidates should present the proof of their completion of the qualifying exam during Admission.

    JKCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

    Only candidates who are permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir State are eligible to apply for JKCET 2020. He or she must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (HSC or 10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.

    An Open Merit candidate is required to score a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved category candidate) aggregate marks in Higher Secondary Examination (HSC).

    Minimum Educational Qualification

    • To get admission into the Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech) course, the candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects.
    • To get admission into Medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, Physiotherapy and BAMS/BUMS, the candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects.
    • The students appearing or appeared in the qualifying examination (HSC) are also eligible to apply for JKCET 2020. 
    • Such students have to submit their original mark sheets at the time of counselling if they got selected. In case a student is not able to achieve the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, then he or she will not be considered for the admission process.

    Age Criteria

    • The minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years on or before December 31, 2019, if he or she wants to apply for Medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, Physiotherapy and BAMS/BUMS.
    • Any candidate born on or after January 2, 2000, is not eligible to apply for JKCET 2020.
    • The age of the candidate will be considered on the basis of the Date of Birth mentioned in the matriculation certificate of the candidate.

    Eligibility Criteria for Open Merit Candidates

    • Open Merit candidates are those candidates who have registered themselves under the TFW or P&B category.
    • Candidates who want to take admission into MBBS and BDS courses must have passed main subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology independently in 10+2 examination.
    • He or she must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in qualifying examination.
    • Moreover, a candidate needs to achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in JKCET 2020 to appear in the merit list prepared by the competent authority.

    Eligibility Criteria for Reserved Category Candidates (SC/ST/Other Backward Classes)

    • A reserved category must score a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2 examinations.
    • Furthermore, a student is required to score a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in JKCET 2020 to appear in the merit list.
    • Eligibility criteria for Reserved Category students are in compliance with the provisions of Reservation Rules and MCI/DCI Regulations.

    The reservation rules are applicable only in government-funded colleges unless specified by a private college. Percentage of seats allocated to each category is mentioned below in the table- Reservation Criteria for applicants seeking admission to various professional courses in Jammu and Kashmir State

    Poor and Backward Families (P&B)

    Scheduled Tribe, Gujjar &Bakerwal (STGB)

    Weak and Under Privileged Classes, Social Castes (OSC)

    Tuition fee Waiver Scheme (TFW)

    Scheduled Tribe, Leh District (STL)

    Residents of Backward Area (RBA)

    Candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports (SP)

    TFW and P&B

    If a Reserved Category Certificate submitted by the candidate is found to be invalid, then he or she will be considered as an Open Merit Candidate. No notice in this regard will be given by the competent authority. Reserved Category Certificate submitted by the candidate that is already expired or is still under process will not be accepted in any situation.

    If a Reserved Category Certificate is valid at the time of application but expires before the JKCET Counselling Process, then, in that case, he or she has to get the certificate renewed on or before the date of counselling. You have to mention only one reserved category even if you belong to more than one reserved category.

    Fill the category details properly as a candidate will not be allowed to change the category option once selected at any stage. The category code provided by the candidate at the relevant serial number of the application number will be taken into consideration.

    Central Pool Seats

    The details of Central Pool seats are received by BOPEE from different ministries every year. The seats will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of merit.  Only those candidates who have qualified JK CET 2020 will be considered for allotment of seats under the Central Pool Category.     Certificate of threat Perception.

    DIG (CID) on the basis of the report received through proper channel started by the concerned SHO.

    Principal Secretary/Commissioner Secretary to Government Department of Home Affairs

    Ward of families both Muslims and non-Muslims who have migrated from Kashmir due to the present situation and has lost their source of revenue including their business or property.

    Certificate of Migration, loss of property, Business and livelihood.

    Migrant certificate from the Concerned Relief Commissioner and supporting documents.

    Principal Secretary/Commissioner Secretary to Government Department of Home Affairs

    Affidavit that no other member of the family has got the benefit of this category’ is to be submitted by the candidates seeking admission through Central Pool seats.
