The poet then sheds light on how the tiger’s life would be if he was free in the jungle.
The poet explains the frustration, anger, and helplessness the tiger feels, reminding him of the habitat he was once part of.
The poem further describes the tiger’s life when he was free. It mentions how the tiger would hide and pounce on deers, and the way he once terrorized the villagers.
Now that he is captive, the poet explains his sudden loss of power. He is now turned into a helpless and powerless animal due to his captivity in the zoo.
The closing paragraph of the poem mentions that the tiger does not sleep during the night due to the movements of patrol cars. He wonders why he has been imprisoned inside a cage. It ends with the tiger’s despair ever since his captivity.
