NERIST NEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria (Before You Apply)

Eligibility for NERIST NEE 2027 differs by exam level. Check the requirements for your level carefully before the registration window opens — applications from ineligible students are rejected without refund of the application fee.

NERIST allocates seats under NE-state quota for permanent residents of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Students from other states may apply for general/open category seats.

Note: Students applying under the NE-state quota must submit a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued by a competent authority of their respective state government. Students from outside the NE region can apply only for open category seats and do not require a PRC.

How to Fill NERIST NEE Application Form 2027

The NERIST NEE 2027 application will be submitted entirely online at nerist.ac.in. You will need to complete two phases: registration and form filling. The steps below are based on the NEE 2026 process — expect a similar flow for 2027.

Phase 1: New Registration

1. Visit the official NEE portal at nerist.ac.in when the 2027 notification is released and click "Apply Online" or "New Registration".
2. Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate.
3. Verify your mobile number using the OTP sent via SMS.
4. Create a strong password and note your Application Number immediately — you will need it for all future logins, admit card download, and result checking.
5. Save your login credentials securely. NERIST does not send reminder emails for lost passwords.

Phase 2: Fill the Application Form

1. Log in using your Application Number and Password at the NEE portal.
2. Select your NEE level — NEE-I, NEE-II (PCM), NEE-II (PCB), or NEE-III. You can apply for only one level per cycle.
3. Fill in personal details: name, date of birth, gender, category, nationality, domicile state, and place of birth.
4. Fill in academic details: board name, year of passing (or expected year), roll number, subjects, and marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
5. Select your exam centre preferences — choose cities within the North Eastern region in order of preference.
6. Upload your passport-size photograph and signature in JPEG/JPG format within the specified file size limit.
7. Upload supporting documents — PRC if applying under NE-state quota, and category certificate if applicable.
8. Review all entries carefully — verify your name, date of birth, NEE level, category, and uploaded photo before proceeding.
9. Pay the application fee online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
10. Download and save the confirmation page with your Application Number — take a printout and keep it safe for exam entry and counselling.

A form correction window will be available after the application deadline closes. Based on the NEE 2026 cycle — where the correction window ran from April 17 to April 21, 2026 — the 2027 correction window is expected to open in April 2027 for approximately 4–5 days via the official portal at nerist.ac.in.

What you can correct during the window:

• Passport-size photograph and signature upload
• Minor spelling errors in name (to match the Class 10 certificate)
• Date of birth (subject to supporting documentary evidence)
• Category (where permitted by NERIST in the official brochure)
• Exam centre preferences

What cannot be changed after submission:

• NEE level selected (NEE-I, NEE-II, or NEE-III)
• Academic stream under NEE-II (PCM or PCB)
• Registered mobile number and email ID

How to make corrections:

1. Log in to the NEE portal at nerist.ac.in using your Application Number and Password during the correction window period.
2. Click "Application Form Correction" or the correction link displayed on your dashboard.
3. Edit the required fields and re-upload corrected documents if needed.
4. Review all changes and submit the corrected form.
