Remarks

The college life we experienced, couldn't have been any better than this. It was a really exquisite and fun and I don't think anyone who has studied at Manipal will ever forget those 4 years of engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course Curriculum was pretty diverse and taught us not only the steam we were in but also a few more subjects which helped us become Engineers. There were a few things like "Technical Drawing" which is outdated and I don't think it was necessary to have that in our course. The exams had 3 parts i) 2 Sessional Papers of 20 marks each ii) 5 Assignments worth 2 marks each iii) 1 Semester Paper worth 50 marks

Placement Experience

3.5

The opportunities are great. Our college provided both Internship and Placement + Internship as well. As per my knowledge, the stipends were good however I did not do any internship hence would not be able to describe the experience.

College Events

5

Our college, like most colleges in India had a Cultural and a Technical Fest. Technical Fest was conducted by various clubs and a lot of competitions were organized by them. Cultural Fest on the other hand was an entirely different experience, with Music Competitions, Fashion Shows, Drama Competitions and Special Performance by famous artists.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure when compared to other colleges is definitely on the expensive side, especially since it is a private college. But the Infrastructure and faculty quality makes up for the high fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship or loan facility from my college. But as per my knowledge, they did have scholarship offers and also provided loan options with bank tie-ups for families that could not afford the high fees

Campus Life

5

We had a lot of extracurricular activities. Labs were a part of the course. Activities had various options I'm both technical and cultural fests. We also had sport competitions in all 4 years. Matches were played section-wise, branch-wise and there was a college team as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel Infrastructure and Facilities were really good. Even though, it was expensive the maintenance, quality and security was top notch. They had various room options as well, like single/double room and attached/common bathroom options

Alumni/Alumna

I haven't used the alumni network much. But the senior students are really helpful when if comes to helping with projects and internship. The knowledge they impart help a lot of students in their college life.

Admission

Yes. There was an online entrance test for the college. It was very well organized and the marks were displayed immediately after. Based on that, we could choose to go to one of the campuses for further process. We filled a few forms and chose our stream at the campus. We could also apply for Waitlist in other streams.

Faculty

4

The faculty strength is really good No matter which stream. But as it goes, a few of the faculty members weren't the best with students and focused more on the "marks" category than general understanding of the Subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
