College review

Negative mark is that they don't allow us to go out of the college before 12:30pm. Most of the rest rooms are not well maintained. Most of the comods are broken. They don't even put the napthalene balls to reduce the smell.

My choice of course was electrical and electronics engineering. I actually had no colleges near my home that had Electrical and electronics engineering. So, i had to other choice. Regarding the branch, there'll be less number of students who join EEE. Exam structure for BE candidates will be 2 semesters per year. Each semester will be for 6 months. Each exam will be carried out after successful completion of 4months of classes.

Placements in our college is not upto the mark. Many of the leading companies like IBM, CAPGEMINI.etc doesn't come to our college for recruitment. They train us well in aptitude and other stuffs. But for core branches there is not even a single company that comes to our college for recruitment. Our college does provide internships for EEE. We on our own had to do our internships.

Every odd semester they conduct sports events like badminton, cricket, volleyball, throwball, chess, carrom, etc. And in every even semester they conduct athletics events, College fests, ethnic day, etc. They also celebrate festivals like ganesh chaturthi etc.

Fee structure is quite good in our college. We can apply for loans, which is a very good initiative by the college which helps students from rural background. Fees is actually feasible. We get what we pay. It is worthy.

I actually get a scholarship around 21k per year under the backward classes category which is offered by karnataka e-pass. If we had no backlogs in the previous year we get 21k, if not 17k. We also get loans at a low rates of interest which we have to pay after the completion of the course.

Extracurricular activities are very much appreciated. We have a well established courts for badminton, volleyball and basketball. We a ground especially for cricket. Labs are very well equipped. We have a high voltage lab which every students from outside comes to watch the lab. The is constructed at an initial cost of 80 Lakhs. Labs are very well equipped.

I haven't opted for the hostel. I have one of my friend who've opted for the hostel facility. They charge around 80k per year, Which includes the accommodation, food, clothing, etc. They give eggs every two days and chicken every 5 days.

I don't know much about the alumni network. Seniors are not very much helpful. Seniors rag a bit for the juniors. Teachers always give the opportunity to the seniors. Our seniors got placed in many of the MNCs.

I had got the ranking below the cut off ranking that was mentioned for my college. So, i got K S school of engineering and management as my first priority was the same. Firstly we need to pay a government fees of 55k to the KEA. And then we suppose to carry all the documents required by the college. After a week of this process, we were informed to pay the college fees of 28k after which our process of getting admitted to the college was over.

Faculties in our particular department train us well. In fact, they take us to industrial visits every month. Faculties have a great knowledge about the subjects. They are keen on clearing doubts of the students. They complete the portions in time. The notes they give are very much usefull.
