Remarks

Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal is one of the best private colleges for pursuing engineering in India. It is a part of the reputable Manipal University. How does it fare in some of the most critical parameters, such as placement, faculty, infrastructure, and campus life?In addition to the study, students get ample opportunities to excel in their favourite activities, such as sports. The colleges organises regular cultural events, technical events, and quiz competitions as well. Overall, Manipal Institute of Technology is a college that students can turn to for acquiring quality education.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is updated every four years and It was just updated in 2019 and exams are just on another level. They use high tech like Epads( Tablets) to take your exam digitally thus saving paper and organising well. Moreover, Every student has access to Impartus Lecture capture so that they are always up to date with the curriculum. I think in near future these all things combined with great faculty from IITs will help me in being a professional in Engineering Fields.

Placement Experience

4

I am now interning at a startup in Bangalore, while the course plan is elaborate and covers basic skills required I would suggest students to cultivate technical skills apart from the course plan for a more dynamic profile. Key companies that recruit from the campus include Amazon, Microsoft, Dell, Bosch, Deloitte, FIAT etc. Overall placement is good as long as you have a well rounded skill set. Most of all Microsoft Ceo, Satya Nadella and Rajiv Suri(Nokia former Ceo) graduated from here so you know how well is the alumunus.

College Events

5

College helds one tech fest and one cultural fest every year along with tons of events are being held each and every day in the every range from sports to enertainment and along with tons of hackathons and one of a kind sports fest. Every Festival is celerated and I stress on every because each and every religion festival is given equal importance and you get to enjoy cultural diversity here. College attracts various other colleges ranging from IITs to IIMs to participate in the events and you just have to buy one delegate event for every event held so all in all there's always something or another happening in this college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is not cheap but it is feasible as state of the art facillities are provided here but after combining scholarships, fees comes down heavily and it takes a less toll on you. You just have to pay 1500 for registration fees for giving the entrance examination. College provides you with total transparency for the college fee breakdown as you can visit the website and see all the listings on fees there.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. Free-ship and Merit-cum-means scholarship 2. AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme 3. Scholarships for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES) 4. Merit-cum-means scholarship for BTech lateral entry students from Manipal group Polytechnic Institutions 5. Scholarship for Konkani speaking students / students studied in AGE colleges 6. Scholarship scheme of interest subsidy on education loan for MAHE students 7. Scholarships for Nursing students 8. Scholarships for School of Information Science (SOIS) students 9. Kadambi scholarship 10. ITC scholarship

Campus Life

5

People- the diversity is something to behold. You're gonna learn so much from students from different states that its beautiful. Everyone has their own take on life and as a multi diverse college you're sure to interact with a lot of people. Many of my friends have grown more confident as the years have progressed. The freedom this place has to offer is unmatched. But not worth paying 20 lakhs. Sports- The sports scene is quite interesting, we have two semi professional leagues in cricket and football (MIT Cricket league and MIT football league). I was a part of the latter. But there's high competition even here. So you have plenty of time to up your game CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS 10/10 There are more than 150+ student clubs in MIT manipal which include non technical clubs like dramatics, dance, music, arts, debate etc, techincal clubs like IECSE, IEEE, AISTE, AIESEC etc and student projects like Formula manipal, MRM, TMR which are all renowned in their fields. Students are free to join as many clubs each of which helps in their personal growth. Most of these clubs have events of their own like the plays put on by the dramatics clubs or acoustic nights by MAFIA. Other than these the two main college fests are Tech Tatva and Revels where colleges from all over india come to participate in various events. The college celebrates all major festivals by making arrangements in the hockey/football ground and all students and faculty are invited. A sight to behold is the diwali celebration where instead of lighting firecrackers everyone releases fire lanterns into the sky and the entire night sky is filled with lanterns drifting away. The college life is energizing and fun and teaches us how to be independent.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes and Hostel faciliities are availaible for each and everyone and it is compulsory for first years to take hostels with some medical exceptions. The hostels should be rated at 5 stars because of all the amenties it provides along with abundance of ac rooms. It has common rooms too and non ac rooms also so that if you want to live affordably and after one year, you can opt out of hostels and live in rented flats which are availaible at affordable rates with ranging from 8000 to 18000 per month. So you have abundaance of living options here.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah seniors and alumni studennts are available at your Beck and call. College itself encourages you to contact them and get their insights about everything and I must say that i am getting a ton of help from some of the Alumunus and one of them is mentoring me to achieve my goal to get into great MNCs and then getting my master's degree from ivy leagues schools.

Admission

I was interested in tech and Engineering from my high school and wanted to pursue higher studies at a good engineering college in India so that I can move on to do masters abroad. And I was more than inclined to Electrical engineering from the start. You just have to give their MAHE entrance exam which is usually in May and you can opt for more attempts in which you can score higher so that you can get your desired stream along with a good scholarship

Faculty

3.5

The faculty here is a mix of good average and above average. But still the plus point about the faculty here is that they treat you like their own children (very few of them do but yes they do care about students). They have some great PHD teachers directly acquired from IITs which adds more value to their faculty

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
